Open Bar Budget

Hey Kendell! Some great advice from the previous posters! Were you able to decide on an open bar budget for your wedding?

I have some heavy drinkers on my FH's side and we would say that for those people they were drinking 1 drink per hour but a couple shots as well... so my reception is from 6pm-1am so that's 5 hours at min. $5/drink max. $7/drink + $3/shot X 2 = $36/person. Of course, that's a heavy drinker - so for those who don't drink at all (for my wedding it's split about 50/50) so instead of 250 people I would only count 125 = $4,500. That's pretty accurate because at our wedding social we had 300 people attend and the booze costed us roughly $5,000 and that's an event that people go to get drunk at...

For your 20 people my guestimate would be anywhere from $360 - $700

HMM. So you only have around 10 people who are big drinkers. I'd rather be on the safe side and budget for $500-$800 for alcohol, then just return what you don't use.
