Awe, thank you! Our wedding is in St. Jacobs (near Waterloo) not sure how far our officiant would be willing to travel - she is based out of Stratford. I can send you a message if you are interested? She is wonderful.

Haha, I would if the process was easier. But here in Canada (or at least Ontario), it's not just a simple click on the internet like we see all the time in American TV. A few years ago, I looked it up because a friend was in a pinch (her officiant double booked and told her last minute, the week of).

We are getting married on a Friday and found an officiant on WW offer us a weekday discount and asked our budget. When I confirmed our price range-she ghosted us

We're searching actively now as well and are pretty surprised at the cost of many of them. It sounds like we'll be paying $500 (and might get a rehearsal) for downtown Toronto.

We are in the same boat- no idea where to look next- pricing is crazy in the GTA! We found one who wanted $800 +GST plus mileage and he is in the GTA!!!!

This is for our officiant. This is for a civil ceremony, but they are allowing us to say our own little piece as well.
Total Estimate (No rehearsal): $ 166.25

Total estimate (With a rehearsal): $ 232.75

We are getting married in BC and went with just someone off the Government commissioner list. The government sets how much they charge so it's cheaper than other ministers that specifically market themselves as Officiants. So we will be less than $200 with the rehearsal and ceremony.

Base Civil Ceremony: $75 plus GSTMarriage commissioners are permitted to charge additional fees for the following:

• time spent over the one hour included in the base civil ceremony: $25/hour billed in 15-minute increments
• mileage (distance travelled to and from the marriage ceremony and rehearsal): $0.55/km

I got some really high quotes. One wanted $900 without rehearsal. I couldn't justify it. We are now paying $300 for ours, I believe it's an extra $50 to add a rehearsal which we haven't decided on yet.

Although the $900 one would charge extra for the rehearsal not to be at their house 🤦🏻‍♀️. I highly recommend having meetings with all the ones you're interested in - the feeling you get with them is so important. We felt so comfortable with the one we chose, she reminded me of my mom 😆, and we were so happy. She really got to know us and our ceremony was so special and perfect; she nailed our story and us as individuals and a couple.

$450 plus another $100 for rehearsal although she offered a 50% discount on the rehearsal for signing up before end of month.

Ours was $500.
We met with a few- cost ranged from $275 to $600 but we loved ours the best, even though she was on the higher side of our budget.

We paid $350 for our Officiant. He was amazing for what he offered 30 minutes of civil marriage.

Our officiant is a good friend who just graduated from ministry in the spring and we haven't discussed costs. I've found in my city the range is 200-450, we'll probably pay him $300.

Holy Cow! Yea that is quite the range Thankfully people have a small town mentality where im from and dont attempt to charge over a thousand dollars! Oh my goodness!

Our officiant is travelling from about an hour away. For the ceremony and the rehearsal plus travel we are paying $500 total.
