Off season wedding pros cons and suggestions

Mg, on January 5, 2025 at 19:54 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 2
Hello I am planning to do my wedding in 2026 of March. I am a teacher and I am using my March break time as my reason for this. Also because it's a small wedding i thought that it would not be a big deal for me doing it March. I'm from Canada so yes I can be cold during March. People are trying to suggest me to do it may 2026 but the reason i am not too keen with that idea is because my brother has his date for September 2026 so I think those are too close together. Some of my family members don't mind that idea I know the reason is for them to avoid the weird March weather and i don't it's fair that my brothers wedding and my wedding can collide because of the pre wedding events that happen before. Can anyone help me i am very stuck on what to do?

    Hi Mg,

If you are set on March, I'd do March! It's your special day so do what feels the best.

I personally do not think a May and September wedding are at all too close together and I'd be more likely to pick May because of the weather, mind you there can be lots of rain during this month but definitely warmer temperatures so for that reason I'd be inclined to choose that over March.

There is nothing wrong with a March 2026 wedding. Just remember that this is your day, and those who want to show up, will show up! March is also a time when people don't have many events (ie: other weddings, parties), and would allow them to make time for you!
