Newbie looking for wedding wire tips & tricks!

Lisa, on February 25, 2019 at 13:02 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 13

Hello fellow brides!

I am looking for some opinions on a few items!

1) Is it worth the cost to become a full Wedding Wire Member? If so, why?

2) What are some tips that you would want me to know?

3) Any tricks to share about having a winter wedding?

Thank you!

I am a free user, I don’t know exactly what the full membership is, I noticed some people are premium users. I thought this might be the extras for the wedding website, which I didn’t bother with myself. So far my wedding website works great without the extras. I couldn’t figure out if there’s anything more for being a premium member. If someone can fill me in that’d be great, I’m curious to know what else you get as a premium member.

I use it for free and love it, I find planning my wedding so fun, I look forward to checking in on everyone and how their weddings are going too. I talked to my client about it the other day and she just got married this past fall and she wishes she knew about it, she says it sounds perfect! The planning tools are great, the people are great and the information is perfect!

I was more then happy to pay for the premium simply for the website alone.

One thing i feel is the most helpful is not being afraid to ask questions, everyone is so helpful.

Premium membership is worth the cost if you do wish to have a website and all the extras. I am a free user as well and just come on the community as others that help with advise and tips to give those planning. I myself came to this site when I was planning my wedding and used the budget for costs purposes.

I never realized there was a forum and eventually getting started to see what this was all about and its great. Even for those that are married and sharing their thoughts on topics.

I'm a free wedding wire user and it works fine for me! The paid account is for added features with the wedding website, which I didn't bother with.

One thing I wish I did was get involved in the community sooner! I joined Wedding Wire in November 2017 but I don't think I was active in the community until January-February 2018. I've seen other forums (not wedding related) filled with rude, opinionated people so I was cautious with getting involved in the community, but everyone here is super awesome and helpful!

There's also a venue/vendor search for all over Canada, while it doesn't have all the vendors in the area, it's definitely a great starting point for looking for venues/vendors. The checklist/guest list/budgeting tools are really helpful on Wedding Wire too, easy to use and provide good visuals!

Congratulations on your engagement, and welcome!

    Thank you Tori!!

Great minds think alike; I have already purchased faux fur wraps - I love the look!

I also agree with not spending where I do not need to. I find the free version of this site works just fine.

    Hey welcome to Wedding Wire!

This community is so, so, SO helpful when planning a wedding! Everyone on here is super nice, has their own points of views, and can provide very good information and advice. I find that the articles, checklists, and overall community is so helpful when planning something that can sometimes make you feel like you're at it alone.

As for a winter wedding, unfortunately I'm having a summer wedding so I have no advice lol.

    1) If you are talking about paying for the website stuff, I would say to look at what each one offers but if you do decide to pay for the wedding website to get it at roughly the 9 month before your wedding mark so that the full year of having it will give you the option of wedshoots being where your friends and family can send in their pictures they took at the wedding.

    2) I won't be paying for a wedding website - just not worth getting a custom domain name and the other styles for the layout.

    3) Winter weddings are amazing for discounts!! Make sure to ask everywhere you go if they have off-season discounts available! Plus, you can can use fur shawl/wrap and it would look amazing! (Faux fur if you are against real!)

    4) CONGRATS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT GIRL!!!!

Welcome to Wedding Wire Smiley smile And congrats on your engagement!

It is free and very beneficial to be a part of this community!

Engage in discussions and post questions. Every individual on here is so helpful, and there are so many different people that you could get some really good answers/opinions!

Start a document, or album of screenshots somewhere and keep notes. I try to participate in as many discussions as I can, but there is always good information coming up that you would not think of. Save it somewhere!
