I agree with what Kelsie wrote, EXCEPT I would put

    ”Mr. J Doe and Family”

    for the family part instead.

The actual names of both parents can be put on the invitations cordially invite you to the wedding of Your name and FH name. One or both set of parents don't feel comfortable, leave them out and just your names alone.

I found this website when I started designing my invitations because it got me thinking about the same thing. While it is a little formal, it has examples and the guideline for like every addressing situation you can think of.

Hope this is of some help! :-)

    I did mine this way

Mr. J. Doe & Guest (for single man)
Ms. J. Doe & Guest (for single woman)
Mr. and Mrs. J. Doe (for a couple)
Mr. and Mrs. J. Doe and Family (for an entire family)

For my invitations we didn't invite any kids so it was either addressed to a single person or to their full names in order of who we are related to. So on some they said John and Jane Doe if John was my Mom's brother but it would be Jane and John Doe if Jane was my Mom's sister.

    Hi Renee,

You can word it however you want depending on your preference. There are many different ways to word invitations depending on if you are religious, have a formal wedding or a more relaxed wedding. I did a quick google search when looking to word my invitations. There are a lot of examples on their, or even Pinterest if you have an account.
