What are you guys planning to do?

As someone who never does her makeup/nails I feel a little out of my comfort zone lol. I was thinking maybe just do french? I was thinking of doing gel, what would you all recommend?

Also I leave for our honeymoon a month after, should I remove it before I go?

Thanks for all your help ladies, I think I will just do shellac in either French or a nude!

I do my own nails all the time. That being said, I’m painting my own nails to calm me down days before the wedding. It’ll be the one thing within “my own control”. I’m doing a classic nude pink look since I feel accent nail will take away from my ring. Also, French is a great look as well.

Makeup: my cousin who is a licensed makeup artist is helping me out. I’ll be paying her/ buying her a gift.

I already wear gel nails, I think I’m going to do something white and sparkly since that’s my style. I would get them filled the week before the honeymoon and do something fun! Maybe check out Pinterest. I do a coffin shape but there’s other shapes out there that may suit you better. Smiley smile

I will probably do a French Manicure too! Except I'm big on the accent nails so I will for sure have both ring fingers with an accent nail!

I've been thinking about gel too but I'm not sure how long it will last... i might just do a shellac to save some money as I will only need it to last the wedding day, honey moon would be much after!

If you're going on your honeymoon a month later the gel may need a touch up but you should be fine to keep them on!

A shellac manicure will last a couple of weeks usually, and looks great. And a french manicure is a solid choice.

The kind of manicure you get really depends what you're going for though... if you're looking to get a manicure as a "final touch" rather than a special glam thing that you're treating yourself to, then just get a shallac. But if you're going for some long extra glam nails, then go for gels.

Both with ruin your natural nails. Once it comes off, your nails will be weak and peely until they have new growth.

I wouldn’t recommend getting gel nails if you plan to remove it right away, it’s very hard on your natural nails. You can always get gel polish, it’s stronger than normal nail polish and instantly dries by curing the nail in a uv lamp like a gel nail. Plus gel polish lasts longer than normal polish. Most spas and salons offers it now.

I did a trial run with a shellac manicure just like this. I loved it! I have to get mine done 8-9 days before the wedding because my allergiea (eyes and nose) don't react well to nail polish anymore.

I get acrylic fake nails, but my fiance who is so low maintenance and never gets hers done is planning on getting gel.manicure with something simple. A regular Mani with a soft champagne colour

I'm getting acrylic, but that's because I usually do. I'll definitely be doing a French tip, but with a fade. This helps your look when they grow out, so it camouflages your nail underneath.
If you get shellac the day or two before the wedding, it should be in great shape for the honeymoon still a week later. You can always get it removed if you dont like it, or touched up if need be before you go!

Im not someone who ever gets my nails done either! I got my nails done in a french wth shellac a couple days before the wedding and they still look great 2 weeks later! Which is a shock because i destroy everything haha.

I will probably get them removed (or just pick them off) over the next week and not worry about them for my honeymoon in the fall.

If you have nice nails. About 6 weeks before i would start doing shellac. To get used to it. Week of wedding get french shellac. Just before honeymoon. Get redone. Unless you dont want them for trip.

Im a nail biter. And im gonna do gel or acrylic nails with tips the month before. Get filled once or twice. Just to get used to them. My nail/pedi lady is awesome and will do them short for me too.

Hadn’t thought about nails yet but a French mani or just clear is what I probably will do. Megis is right, it takes getting used to taking out contacts with them but you’ll adjust. I used to get my nails done a lot and it can last quite a long time. Might just want to give it a trial try a couple months before the wedding, see how long it lasts and if you even like it. And if you do, then you already have a manicurist you like and trust to do your wedding nails. And if one does break while you’re on your honeymoon I’m sure wherever you’re going has a nail salon you can go to lol

Doing your nails is a good touch. If you wear contacts it will be tricky to get them in and out. If youre not used to them daily tasks can get annoying. You can get nails to the size you feel comfortable with.

I accidentally got gel nails for my engagement photos even tho I told the lady like 20 times I didn’t want gel nails. They are very annoying and lift is the place doesn’t do them right and then once you take the nails off it makes them weak. I am planning on getting monthly manicures and using nail strengthener and whatever else to have natural nails for my wedding.

I'm just getting my nails done(painted) opposed to gel, mostly because i never wear nail polish so i feel like ill be way out of my comfort zone to have them super fancy. plus we are going backcountry camping for our honeymoon so that would not end well lol.

If I were you I would get them removed before going on your honeymoon, so its more comfortable- especially if you don't often have your nails done- but you might get them done and feel totally amazing about it!
