I'm probably going to do an all white/nude pink on my toe nails to balance out the bold on my hands/bold shoes

It is actually pretty good! I have noticed my nails growing super strong, which never happens. I ordered from Bowmar Nutrition. I've followed them for quite some time and just gave in and bought it. They are american so its a little expensive, but honestly worth it at this point. Still trying to look for one that I can get in Canada so I don't have to worry about exchange lol

Can they do nail extensions with the dip? A reason I debated gel is my nails are very short... (they are weak and break constantly), so I was hoping to have a little bit extra length added to them!

I started getting gel nails last summer since I thought about getting them done for the wedding/engagement photo shoot but I also wanted some time to get used to them. I'll probably get them removed soon after the wedding .

My toes will definitely be a more neutral polish since my shoes are bold so I want my toe nails to be more subtle.

I had gel nails for so long but I had them removed last summer. I was just over them. Not planning to get them again for the wedding. I think I will just get a shellac mani and call it done! Likely navy blue to match the bridesmaids dresses.

View quoted message Honestly try dip if your nail salon has it. I used to get gel nails all the time. And they ruined my nails. So I took a break, let them grow out and started getting shellac. But after a week or 2 they would start to chip. My salon got dip and I’m never turning back.
Right over top my natural nails. And it looks so good. If you look up Kiara Sky that’s the brand that my nail salon has!

I will definitely be getting my nails done, probably gel nails. I am not sure if I will go for a simple french tip or something a little different.

I've heard good things about shellac - I've never tried it either but I've heard of it lasting up to 1-2 weeks.

I do gel overlays: I get gel put right on the nails, cure it with UV light and then gel nail polish on top, which is cured with the UV light too. Some places do the gel manicure part without the overlays if you have good nail length/strength - I had none of the above lol which is why I have the overlays.

As for damage, I'm not entirely sure since I haven't had my nails removed since starting gel overlays, but I've heard that it's better for your nails than acrylics. If you do go down the acrylic route, make %110 sure they don't use MMAs (used in dental reconstructions)

That would be just painted on my nails though because I can't stand what my shellac nails did to my real nails My natural nails can be grown out!

What is the best type of nail to do to ensure it will last like a week? I have heard of Shellac but never tried it... I wanted to get my nails done maybe 3 days before the wedding but want to make sure they last a while!

Sounds like my nails! Underneath the gel, they wouldn't be able to stay a reasonable length! I don't have my nails too long every because I'd be the same with not knowing how to use hands lol

That first pic you posted is AMAZING!

For me I feel like I have enough boldness going on with other things so keeping the nails more simple! I really want to do a french manicure with a blush undertone and a sparkle accent nail!
