More Groomsmen than Bridesmaids... Is that weird?

Xeina, on October 3, 2018 at 10:10 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9
My fiancé has many guys that he would like to put in the wedding party. He has about 8 guys that he wants as his groomsmen, where as I probably only have about 4 girls that are going to be my bridesmaids.. Is that going to be weird?

    Not weird at all!

You could have two guys paired up with each girl.

Not weird at all!! Your wedding - do what you want. We’re having 4 groomsmen and 2 bridesmaids. Initially I didn’t want a bridal party at all, but FH wanted a bridal party.. a lot of people judge and make comments about it, but I just shrug it off and say, doesn’t matter - my wedding. You do what you want for your wedding Smiley smile

At the end of the day, it is whatever makes you happy! This is your day!
Like the other ladies say it could make some really cute pictures!

That's not weird at all! So long as you have the important people up there next to you, it's fine Smiley smile

We have more guys than girls! Wouldn't change it at all. As long as you have the people that means most to you with you then it doesn't matter if the numbers match.

Heeyyyy join the club! Haha. I have 3 bridesmaids (used to be 4, but my friend is going to school in England and she has a final exam the day after the wedding) and my FH has 7 groomsmen (was going to be 8, but he didn't find time to talk to the guy for 5 months so I said no more).

To answer your question, yes, it is weird. Are people going to judge you for it? Maybe, my dad does. But should you care? No!! Its both you and your fiance's wedding. If he has 8 guys he MUST have standing with him, let him. Those people are important.

Do it, anything goes these days and you don't need to have balancing sides. We are having 3 bridesmaids, 1 MOH, 2 groomsmen, and 1 bestwoman. Since you have 2 guys per 1 girl, you could have them double up with each bridesmaid.

That way he doesn't have to cut 4 of his guys, and you don't have to ask 4 girls you don't really want up there.

Not at all! It's not the "typical" arrangement but who cares! You could get some super cute photos of 2 guys lifting up 1 girl if they're okay with that! I say go with it! Youd hate to have to tell him to cut some guys or try to force yourself to ask more girls.

I don't think so at all Smiley smile As long as you and him are okay with it then go for it!

I like symmetry and was only one person off for my wedding party so I opted to ask one more person but I have not only seen wedding parties with more on one side as well as bride and groom who didn't have a wedding party at all. Heck - my own FH is having 2 bestmen and I'm only having 1 MOH after all.
