Moore’s issues 🤦🏼‍♀️ -groomsmen wear

Did anyone else that went to Moore’s for the groomsmen attire have issue after issue. 🤦🏼‍♀️


Every groomsmen has called me this week after going in. Weather it was they didn’t have the shoe size, no pants in stock , shirt doesn’t fit. Seemed like one issue after another!!! My fiancés was pretty easy, he bought a custom suit. except they had to order a different size shirt for the second time because it didn’t fit.
I’ve had lots of issues with David’s bridal as well but my girls all have their dresses now. Is it just these big chain stores??? It’s a bit frustrating to deal with.

    Oh wow this is so weird and nerve wracking!! we had all of our groomsmen get their suits from moores and no issues at all! They all need to go back in a couple weeks for their last fitting so i hope nothing goes wrong then!

    I wouldn't completely discount DB if that's what you were setting out to do. The issues can be store specific. Most complaints you hear are about the experience with a particular staff and not so much about the product itself.

    Not to discourage you from Azazie, of course, but online retail vs in person for dress buying offers different experiences. If you were hoping to hang out with your girls and see them try on a bunch of different styles and colours, it's harder to do with an online retailer like Azazie. That's one aspect of our wedding planning that my wife wish she had but all non-essential retail stores were closed at the time.

    Since I said yes my plan was to go to Davids Bridal atleast for the bridesmaids dresses. I will definitely look at Azazie for my wedding party- they are mentioned over and over on WW!

    What you're describing sounds less like custom and more like off the rack. If they're all getting custom suits, there shouldn't be stock problems because each store would be getting the jacket and pants made to order. No one should be picking up someone else's pants in a different location from the jacket.

    If they're too small, then someone in the store didn't measure them properly or the guys gained weight in the weeks since the initial ordering process. Or no one measured anyone and they just gave a number thinking it's their size when it's not. Either way, sounds like someone from the groom's team messed up and I hope your fiance is on them to get it taken care of.

    Don’t go with Moore’s!!! Seriously save yourself the headache. Same with David’s bridal.


    I thought Of it as the most basic, most inexpensive but that’s not true at all. They don’t even have more than one ivory dress shirt at Moore’s. My fiancé paid 900 total for his entire suit custom. But we’ve dealt with so many issues. We also went very early for my fiancé and still had issues. Groomsmen waited longer so not surprised at this point that there’s low stock. Fit isn’t that great. We picked basic attire and half the guys it didn’t fit!
    David’s bridal also would loose our file, loose the dresses, rushed you in and out you couldn’t even have time to look around! LOL not worth the stress!! Try azazie, 3 of my friends who are getting married this summer used it and was perfect!!! And so inexpensive

    Thank you!!! Yes this exactly how I felt. My fiancé didn’t know the difference but I know good service because I went to the bridal boutique for my wedding dress and they were so incredibly helpful and Attentive. Moore’s and David’s bridal try to get you in and get you out.
    We went into Moore’s a few days ago to pick up my fiancés suit he had custom ordered. The guy couldn’t find our file, yet he was the one who wrote everything down and help up the entire fitting a few months before that. Once my fiancé tried on his suit the guy just left!? We had our toddler with us who obviously was impatient. But the guy came back 20 mins later and I couldn’t even talk with the clerk about what my fiancé needed or how long it would take to get the new stuff ordered. My fiancé is a mans man he doesn’t think about that kind of stuff so Ofcourse he didn’t ask lol but I had to take my toddler out because the clerk was taking so long!! Also I had to help my fiancé put on a bow tie and suspenders because he didn’t know how and I barely did!? Like that’s the clerks job!!! And one of the lady’s who worked there walked by and she’s like that’s definitely wrong. I was like then help him??? Why are you just starring at him 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
    Anyways lol not a good experience and then I got several calls from the groomsmen telling me they said items on file were undecided or not even on file. Luckily I remembered everything we chose because my fiancé did not lol. But it’s just been ridiculous dealing with both Moore’s and David’s bridal!

    We did custom as well. I gave notice to guys in March and gave them reminders every month and they didn’t go until just these past few days 🤦🏼‍♀️


    We had issues with my bridesmaids dresses at David’s bridal but that was way back in February so we had lots of time and it wasn’t much of a concern but these guys… stressing me out lol
    Makes sense that there would be a shortage this time of year! You are correct!

    I understand that typically they have to order, you normally can’t walk out with a suit. Similar to David’s bridal.
    The problems were that they are running low of stock and the guys had to go to different Moore’s stores. Or one groomsmen in a different area had to pick up another groomsmens pants. Or they would order it in and it still was too small 🤦🏼‍♀️If it wasn’t so close to the wedding I wouldn’t be as stressed but they waited basically till last minute to go and that has caused me lots of stressed. Between the clerks not having everything we decided on file. Talking to the clerks over and over making sure it’s correct and talking to all the guys when they have an issue like the slim fit pants aren’t fitting 2 out of 3 of the guys, while my fiancé is upset because he wants them all to be in the same lol soooo just a lot to deal with but it’s looking up now, I think they have it all figured out 🤞🏼

    It’s hard because all of our groomsmen are all over the map, I wish we could’ve all gone together but we weren’t able to!
    So I’m just dealing with them on the phone but the last groomsmen got back to me today finally and said they didn’t have another ivory shirt so they will order him one and then tailor it to fit him
    Then just one more groomsmen has to go get the shoes because he forgot 🤦🏼‍♀️ Lol Chaos but I think it’s looking up now 😂

    My FHs grooms people bought pants at the bay, each had to buy their own white shirt and brown shoes. Super easy. We looked at Moores and some other places bur changed our mind because of price.

    The guys ended up purchasing their suits from Tip Top Tailors and had a great experience. We did visit Moores but the staff did not seem to care, they did not have colours that we liked, and they were pretty expensive.

    I also had poor luck with Davids Bridal - the staff was pretty unprofessional mind you they did hem my dress (not from there, from BHLDN) and they did do a good job. I get what you are saying about the larger franchise stores though completely!

    We went to Moores, but did custom suits so maybe that's why we didn't experience any issues. Everything was great. We went looking in April for July wedding, and the timing was good, probably especially since graduations and proms were not yet in the works so we beat the rush. When we were looking for a simple white dress shirt for my step-son in June it was really hard to find something in his size because all the kids had bought out everything for grads and proms and the stores were tapped out!

    Are you buying or renting?

    Rentals will never fit well. It's the nature of the business. These suits are made to fit as many people as possible with constant re-wear by the masses. If you're hoping a rental will fit like a glove, it just won't happen. They can make slight adjustments but it still won't be a perfect fit because they can't make any permanent alterations to the garment.

    If you're buying, you can't just expect to be able to go in and pick up a jacket and pants with shirt the same day. Not to say it can't happen but if the guys are of a typical size (36-42), they need to give themselves extra time because these sizes sell out fast. Especially for common items like white shirts. Even when I bought my suit with my groomsmen at another store, we had to make three trips: one for the initial selection and ordering, one for a fitting, and one for a final fitting after alterations.

    Moores have online ordering available since last year (finally!) so if going into the store is too much of a hassle for these guys, maybe they can go that route. As long as they know how to measure themselves and can get sizing correct, it's a lot easier to get the warehouse to ship it than to have an associate order it and ship it to the store. They'll still have to take the item to Moores for tailoring, or their own independent tailor.

    Also if this helps... it all worked out even with the broken zipper and too small vest (all they had when wife ran to closest one)

    I'm sure it'll work out!! Be sure everyone tries on their suits making sure they fit properly before leaving the store! If it helps - our boys all bought from Tip Top and 3 of the suits were not right but the boys didn't think to look or try them on... lol. We had a missing vest, a broken zipper, and short pants LOL. Now it's just funny at least.

    We were going to go with indichino but we’ve been to a few weddings in the last couple of months and all of the grooms had fit issues and either didn’t get it fixed in time or had to find another tailor 😬

    My dad just went to Tip Top for his suit for my September wedding. They did not have his size in the colour he wanted but was told they could order it for him. He was told to expect it to arrive in a week and just got the shipping notice this evening.

    I wouldn't trust moores since they do great work, yet no guarantees on getting the right fit shirts or pants in for the wedding party. My husband bought his suit from Tip Top and they were fitted great on the first try. Glad to hear the groomsmen got the full refund back.

    My dad recently bought his suit for my wedding from TipTop and apparently there’s a shortage of suits at the moment at every suit shop out there. Idk if it’s shipping issues or what but it’s not just Moore’s.

    Interesting! Im glad they gave a refund! I’ve thought about just choosing a different store but it’s way too late now lol
    The groomsmen waited so long to get their attire! I’ve been giving them notice and reminders since March lol

    I looked into indichino!! I was going to go with but ended up not lol I should’ve though!!

    My partner had some issues when he went to get a suit for my besties wedding. They did literally nothing to his suit so he was swimming in it. However, they did end up giving him a full refund in the end, so it worked out for him.

    Our groomsmen just need to buy pants so we haven't really faced any issues ourselves. My hubby got his suit from Indichino in Calgary and they have been AMAZING!!!

    We've been dealing with Moores and have had no issue but we're also renting. So sorry that you're dealing with this
