Help! My friend is getting engaged and wants to be married NEXT MONTH!
She has asked me to be her wedding planner and her maid of honour. I'm ecstatic and want to support the both of them... but I'm stressing out.
Looking for advice on what things can be left out of the wedding, plus how to get things done quick, cheap and still beautiful.

Wow thats fast. i hope she doesnt have a lot of people. first thing i would do is have her make a guest list and call them all to let them know the date dont bother with sending invitations. you need an answer asap. then book a hall and an officiant and then find wedding decor and a dj asap! check wedding wire send a ton of emails and see who is even available on her date. she may not have many choices. she needs to get her dress, jewelry, hair and makeup lady, transportation to and from the venue etc. good luck

As long as you are up to the task it is for sure doable!
First things first - find a venue and somebody who can legally marry them! After that get some evites out ASAP! If she is wanting a bridal shower do a 2 in 1 evite (but with such short notice I'm not sure who can pull together money for a gift and presentation).
After that it's a matter of music and food/drinks and decor. Look on FB market place and wedding groups as I'm sure there will be decor for sale!

Thank you for the reassurance! I'm sure it will work out. The bride is a master of working under pressure, and she'll be wearing her aunt's dress. I'm definitely going to be checking out kijiji, and I'll bring up the idea of having it on a weekday.

I planned my wedding in 5 weeks so it definitely can be done.

I think it works best if she is wanting an intimate wedding. Is that what she is wanting?

Things we got rid of:
Dancing
Invitations

Some things to think about:

Is she willing to have it on a weekday? Vendors are more likely to be available on a day other than Saturday. We got married on a Wednesday.

For venues - I would think about backyards or private rooms in restaurants. Or another option we played with was airbnb (you can select only places that permit events). If you do go the more traditional venue, you will get amazing deals because you are last minute.

For the dress - she will need to do either sample sale or likely online. I purchased mine from Light In the Box (actually I bought 3 so I could select my favourite) and was very happy with it.

Facebook marketplace is your friend - lots of decor available there.

We found our musician on GigSalad. He was great. Our other vendors we found on Kijiji.
