We are both from Canada and our families are both from Scotland, so not mixing much there. However, we are mixing in some Celtic traditions in our wedding. I am more religious than my FH so we are keeping our ceremony non-denominational.

We haven't decided how to handle it yet. His fam is Italian Catholic and my family is mixed race Muslims on one side and Christian on the other. He's not a practicing Catholic and I'm am atheist so I have no idea what to do. It's actually really stressing me out.

We don't have mixed culture at all, our families are different in their own ways of personality and beliefs though

We don't really have mixed traditions so this doesn't apply to us. But if we had mixed traditions I would honour them none the less.

We are both religious (he's Mennonite and I'm Protestant) but we both have been non-practising for years. Ceremony is secular and not in a church, which will probably be a shock to some Catholic relatives.

Haha that’s an acceptable reason to not want to wear the sash! Are there any other ways he’s being influenced (by family members or others) to include his heritage into the wedding?

My FH is 1/4 Metis... and he does have a sash that he is technically supposed to wear for the ceremony... but I think he's totally forgotten about it and doesn't really want it to clash with his suit Smiley xd

Not dealing with this at all... my FH and I are both Caucasian, English speaking, non-religious people (how vanilla)... However I have attended some bi-cultural weddings, and the mixes of each cultures traditions coming together is just beautiful.

Besides having a bilingual wedding (French/English), there aren't that many differences between our families.

Our families are different religions, but we believe the same so some of them will feel like the ceremony is different from what they are used to.
