Mini wedding

Kirsten, on December 28, 2024 at 09:36 Posted in Plan a wedding 1 3
Hi! Recently engaged and looking for some help! So some back story, originally my fiance and I were going to elope but realized that we wanted our very immediate family and our best friends present. Due to his large blended family we are looking at max 25 people. My struggle is we want to just do a ceremony like an elopement but have no idea where to begin to look for a venue for a mini wedding got just a ceremony. Ideally I want it to in the Canadian rockies. Ideas, recommendations and ideas welcome!

Look for microweddings - it's basically a pre-set package that gives you a ceremony (officiant included), photographer, seating for around 20 people and in some cases refreshments. There are some in the Banff area, including a company called "Shotgun Weddings" but there are a bunch that'll do them.

I am eloping next month in Canmore and the having a intimate dinner afterwards (40 of family and close friends). Ceremony is going to be just me, fiance, photographer, witness and Officient. We will be spending the day with the photographer Taking pictures in the mountain and then in the evening we meet everyone at a restraunt for dinner.

    Hi!
Fellow future diy bride (and wedding planner & coordinator student!)

I would suggest looking at where you want your ceremony first (if it’s different from where the reception is to be held) and confirm the date you want is available (have 3 other potential dates that work for you). Also, is there somewhere special in the Rockies that you want to have the wedding at? Google places that interest you and ask them their rates and availability; ask them what is offered as well (do they have decor and floral?, menus, open bar or cash bar, is there a minimum number of guests?). Choose at least 3 venues that you would potentially like and visit them (3 venues a day is ideal so it’s not just one and a wasted day!).I would start there.Hope that helps 😁
