Men's suits

Just curious should the grooms and father of the bride suits be dry cleaned before the wedding or do you think buying a cloth steamer would work just as good?

DO NOT bring your wool suit for a wash and press. The water and heat can shrink your suit. And if it's a fused suit (very likely unless you paid $500+), you risk your lapels and the body of the suit bubbling from the glue undoing in the heat.

If you need cotton dress shirts pressed, just use an iron at home. Some shirts, usually ones made of polyester, are designed not to wrinkle and need no ironing.

The gentleman we spoke to when purchasing the grooms dress shirt suggested bringing all items to the dry cleaner for a wash and press. That way everyone is wrinkle free on the big day which is awesome because I have bad luck with water staining items with the steamers.

I totally agree with hank. You don't need to get them dry cleaned before hand. As long as you have a steamer, you'll be good to go

If you just bought it, dry cleaning is not necessary. If it's wrinkled but not dirty, just a quick steam will do. Dry cleaning is only necessary if the suit is soiled with stains or other dirt. Try to avoid excessive dry cleaning for suits because the chemicals mess with it.
