Marriage Licence- Residents of Saskatchewan getting married in Ontario

I would call or go into a service ontario and a service sask and ask them you dont want to get it wrong or have some wrong documents

I’m in the same boat but I’m in Nova Scotia getting married in Ontario. You get the license in Ontario at city hall and mail your license into the provincial registry in Thunder Bay after your wedding (your officiant will probably take care of that for you). It shouldn’t be an issue with name changes but maybe talk to someone at your provincial governments office about the documentation they would need. Ontario has a couple different certificates of marriage and you want to be sure you get the right one.

Best to obtain the marriage license in Ontario to avoid confusion of provinces. Your Officiant will have it done by the time you have gotten back to Saskatchewan to pay for the certificate after.

You have to obtain a license from the province in which the marriage will take place.

I believe you would have to apply in Ontario since that is where you're getting married.

I don't think it would affect the certificate apart from showing you got married in Ontario? But perhaps some of the other brides further along in the process could confirm since I'm not 100% sure.
