Make up timing

J. M., on July 29, 2020 at 08:54 Posted in Beauty 0 5
Hey!
My make up girl wants to come at 9 am.. the ceremony doesn't start till 3 pm I feel like that's way to long in between- she would like a hour per person. Does that seem normal?

My ceremony is at 3pm also and make up and hair girls will be getting to my moms place at 6:30am to set up and start at 7am. She is doing myself my 3 girls and my moms make-up (5 hours worth) gives cusion time and extra time to put the dress and accessories on as well as take photos before we leave. (Not to mention time to relax and breath) haha. So I think that will be fine!

I think you'll be fine!! You'll want to factor in set up of their work station, mini-breaks here and there for MUA to rest/stretch/washroom etc. Plus, the bride is usually the last one to get make up. Looks like you'll have some time for pictures before the ceremony with just your girls as well. It also gives some breathing room if there are any delays.

I just recommend ensuring you have your wedding lipstick with you for touch ups and a "just in case" kit.. including eyelash glue, eyeliner, concealer, etc. (the basics) ..cause.. just in case lol

My ceremony is at 4:00 pm and my MUA is coming for 11.. only 4 applications and we're not doing pre-ceremony pictures so I'm pretty comfortable with it.

You'll need to factor the few hours in between where you'll take a break for lunch, which afterwards you will likely require some touch up.

I think that's a good time depending on how many people you have to get makeup done.

My ceremony is going to be at 330pm and we're starting at 1030 ish. it's just me and my MOH getting our makeup done. Also factor in if you want to get photos done before the ceremony as well and travel to your ceremony. I'm doing photos with my family before we leave to the winery since we're getting ready at a lake front condo and it has a beautiful waterfront. We're also 25 minutes away from our ceremony place.

That seem about on par with what my MUA suggested for my day.
For our bigger sequel wedding (vs. elopement this year), the plan is my MUA is coming at 10AM and scheduled to finish between 2:00-2:30pm (ceremony at 3:15pm). There are four of us - Me, my bridesmaid, my MOH, and the MOC/close friend. Selena (MUA) explained that she averages an hour each, but it won't take an each hour for the MOC, BM, and MOH. She average to that to include the extra time usually spent on the bride and any last minute touch-ups before sending you off to the ceremony. If you have four or more people and with touch ups at the end, it seems reasonable.
