Mailing out Invites or Hand Delivered?

Melanie, on February 22, 2019 at 20:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12

Hello Everyone!

Looking for everyones view on Hand Delivered invites?? we have a lot of people who we can hand deliver the invites to (side con is we save on stamps) and some will have to be mailed when we do our xmas cards or bday invites we normally mail some and hand deliver others that are closer to us... but given its for wedding should i just mail them all out? or would you think it won't come across un-professional to have hand delivered invites??

I think it's actually the opposite of "unprofessional" - we are hand-delivering as many invitations as we can, plus it's an excuse to visit with family or friends that one of us might not be familiar with.

The ones I can hand deliver I will! All of them have mail boxes and I can drop it off. I don't see any issue with this. Specially if larger wedding or want to cut costs somewhere to add somewhere else.

95% of invitations for us were hand delivered and 5% mailed out to the states to the family.

When creating the mailing addresses, I also based on how I was going in what direction I was going. The first to receive the invites were my family and some friends in the west end when I visited. The next day it was my family (in laws, cousin and second family) in the east end when we went to visit. Last was locally where all his co workers and some of my co workers, our friends got them.

Your right about saving money that way being smart.

We will be hand-delivering some invitations as well as mailing, every little bit helps to save on postage!

I plan on hand delivering the ones I can and mailing out the rest. I agree that it’s a good idea to help save money on postage. I don’t think it comes across as unprofessional, I think most people will be excited to receive an invitation regardless the mode of delivery.

Not unprofessional at all. Saving money any way you can is super important!
We handed out our save the dates at Christmas to those that we saw, and then mailed out the rest. This will most likely happen when it comes to our invites as well

Not unprofessional at all! We did a mix of both! Ones we could deliver we did and when mailing out was easier we did that too!

We will be hand delivering what we can, and mailing the others for the same reasons discussed before me!

We are doing both. The more I can hand deliver the better for me. I will take one day and drive around. It will cheaper for a tank of gas then to purchase 100+ stamps

We just did both with our Save the Dates : Hand delivered to our friends who live in the same city. We mailed the rest to our families and friends who live across the country.

We did a little of both, we mailed out anyone out of town and to our wedding party. Anyone else local we hand delivered, hand delivering adds a personal touch. Also majority of people understand saving a little on the cost.
