❤️Love in the time of Corona❤️

What is everyone doing with their fiance or new spouses while you're stuck at home together? Are you having movie marathons, learning to cook together, or trying not to commit murder?

Taylor and I have been watching all the Marvel movies in order on Disney+, and we've ordered "date night in" from a few of our favorite local spots. So far we've had our favorite pizza place, the world's best butter chicken, and this weekend we're thinking sushi! He's usually not one for going out so staying in for date nights has been a nice change.
We've also been making sure to take a little time apart to stay sane. I've been doing puzzles and reading, he has been glued to the PlayStation.

For myself & my FH we were both at home for a month on self isolation and we had an amazing time together. We did classic tv marathons, ordered wine and had date nights indoors or even on our balcony (keeping it somewhat classy), we have even been taking daily walks through the trails of the park near our home. Granted there have been a few times when the boredom and restlessness made us both very moody, but we both got through it and glad to be back at work. Cant wait until we are able to actually socialize, I miss my friends and familyyyyyyy.

Yeah it’s crazy. I think back and can’t believe how oblivious/ignorant I was in early March, in terms of the potential impact in Canada!
A home gym is awesome though. So jealous. I was bummed when they made the call to close our building’s but it was obviously the prudent decision. Would’ve been a Petri dish for sure!

Definitely weird times! I don't think I imagined bit would be going on for so long. I've been home for 37 days now.

I'm very fortunate that Taylor never bugs me to work out with him. He's too good at it so I prefer to work out alone! He works for a fitness equipment company and he has set up quite the mini home gym in our spare room.

Great thread and especially clever title. Like others, my FH and I are working remotely so we’re not constantly in each others’ faces during business hours 😅. I’d say we’re having a pretty good time though. We’ve been tackling some home improvement projects, expanding our mutual repertoire of recipes (which has been successful... for the most part), having home happy hour, binging Netflix, etc. I’ve been getting out for walks whereas he’s been all about the home work outs (and hounding me to participate). I’ve been reading more than usual. He’s been gaming.
    Weird but good times.

We've started changing light fixtures too! It's started a domino effect of me needing to paint our ceilings and if I do that I'm going to need to do the walls too. It's like the adult version of "If you give a mouse a cookie".

That's a great idea to watch all the Marvel movies in order. I think we'll do that!
We've been cooking way more than normal. Trying out all sorts of new recipes with what we have on hand. I've also been baking up a storm and he's been tasting everything. Other than that, we've been tackling cleaning up our basement since it's a mess from moving last year, and I worked on switching out all the light fixtures. He's also been glued to video games - which is good!

Some of us are still working ( nurse in continuing care). If anything I may have to work more as the government has announced that workers at continuing care facilities can only work at one place. That will mean some staffing shortages. I am happy that I still have a job but also terrified that I will contact this virus and bring it to work.

We’ve been watching a lot of shows (Love is Blind, Downtown Abbey, Veep currently). At least once a week we try to do something without screens, some favourites are trivial pursuit and puzzles. We order takeout once a week and have a movie night, and other nights we try to cook together. Sometimes we have themed nights, like tacos and margaritas which is fun.

We’re both working from home but we work in separate rooms so we are apart for most of the workday which helps to get some time alone (and with productivity since we both have a lot of calls!)

Hahah trying not to commit murder 😂 Marvel movies sounds like fun. So far we have been catching up on shows and playing some video games together. I have also been catching up on all my reading which has been nice.

The shows that we have been binge watching has been Tiger King, Brooklyn 99, How to fix a drug scandal, and I enjoy my Greys Anatomy. However, we are really into The Last Kingdom and we found out the new season gets released at the end of the month 🤗

I can't imagine being stuck at home without Netflix/Amazon/Disney+. I would have run out of DVDs long ago, and I'm assuming if blockbuster still existed it would be closed right now.

We’ve done puzzles. We did a panoramic one of the Rogers Centre during a Blue Jays game and now we’re doing one of a bunch of donuts.

Of course we’ve watched Tiger King and bonded over discussions of it, like how is it even real? More twists than Game of Thrones.

We’re also onto binging Brooklyn 99 from the beginning.
We’ve played a lot of rounds of Heads Up too.

I will admit I'm avoiding Tiger King as best I can. It looks like an absolute dumpster fire of a show and I'm afraid of how addicted I'll get!

Currently, my FH is in quarantine 🙁 Hard not to see his face or hug him...but over these last several days, we have had plenty of video chats, played some mad libs and mad gab via FaceTime, had zoom conferences with our families and I’ve had plenty of time to clean the house and do a few little projects (like paint the hallway I was supposed to paint in September of 2018...) I had a week off from work due to his quarantine etc. But prior to this (and after this) we are both still working... so we do get to spend some time apart- and in the evenings we have been doing a lot more cooking, a lot more things around the house, and ALOT of Nintendo playing/movie watching.
Tiger King was our most recent Netflix Binge 🤣

Our house is small, but the other night we talked about how much more stressful this would have been in our tiny apartment. I'm glad we have separate spaces we can hide out in if we need to, but so far it's been separate activities in shared spaces.

We have been keeping up with our Friday Date Nights, just keeping then IN for now. We cook something fun, and then plan some kind of fun activity. This Friday we camped out in our living room, built an epic pillow/sheet tent, had some wine and charcuterie and then watched movies. It was so much fun! We've also been doing take out nights on Saturdays.

Also can second spending some time "apart" as well. It is pretty hard as we live in a small inner city apartment so unless one of us wants to be shut up in the bedroom, we are always in the same room haha but so far it has been great.

We talked about doing Star Wars after too! My fiance pointed out that we can hopefully save that one for next winter when were trapped in the house because of weather instead of a virus.

In our house the “inmates” are looking like they may riot at any minute, for now we have them in a zombie like state with hand held gaming devices and a lot of games to pick from!! 😂

For my FH this has been harder for him as I am used to being more at home as I homeschool the kids and with their extra curricular activities being cancelled our routine hasn’t changed much. I can tell he is a bit more antsy not being able to work or go to school. We have been able to start a Star Wars marathon though, which includes all movies and/or shows, to be watched NOT in the way they were released but in the way they fit the timeline within the Star Wars universe itself......I truly do love that man!! LOL! I think he is already eyeing the Marvel collection we have and we are no where near being done with Star Wars!!

It’s brutal but better to know we’re not passing COVID around. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

It’s just silly cause we currently live 15 mins away LOL but it’ll all be worth it to not be sick.

    That must be really tough.

We were long distance for several years, and I know that doesn't compare, but it makes it so much better when you do get to hold them again!

We still live apart sadly so we haven’t seen each other except for Saturday when we had to go by our house for a showing (had to make sure the basement wasn’t leaking still). So we maintained our 6+ feet distance.

Aside from that we speak on the phone when we drive into work and text LOL 😂 so unfortunately not much going on for us.
We move May 16 so it’s coming up!! Looking forward to that.

I'll have to check out house party! We've had a few group chats with friends and a family game night of cards against humanity with FH's family. Have you used Netflix party? I'm testing that tonight to watch love is blind with my girlfriends, apparently you all watch at the same time and there's a chat function built right in.

Also my fiance sells fitness equipment and you would not believe the number of pelotons and treadmills he has sold in the last few weeks. They're running out of everything!

We just finished Winter Soldier last night!

So far we are both still working, I'm not sure how much longer that will last. And we still have a few boxes of odds and ends from our 2018 move I should probably get around to...

Oh I love this post!! Thank you for starting this conversation Smiley smile

Movie marathons, Netflix binge watching, trying out new recipes, getting our back/front yard ready for the spring and working out more together (we purchased a pelaton right before all this happened so we are definitely getting our money's worth!).

I've been reading a bit more and also just starting doing puzzles again! Now that we are both working from home our dining room table and office area are deemed useless so my FH surprised me with a puzzle board the other day Smiley smile

I can say that we also have had a few "date nights" and we are in full support of local restaurants!

Another cool thing to try is the app "HouseParty" - it's a virtual spot to hang out with friends and play some games together. We have been doing this Friday's and some Saturday evenings.
