I haven't but I bought my fh a pre wedding ring and he lost it... so he went back to people's himself and bought the exact same one. It's a loss of money but it happens, have to bite the bullet and buy another ring that you love. In the bigger picture, you'll be getting married to the man you love and will be married for the rest of your life. The ring isn't the biggest part of a life and marriage together. As long as you do love the ring that represents your marriage, all that matters. Ppl lose rings. They are replaceable representations of love that is irreplaceable.

I understang how you are feeling. I put my ring in the washing machine by accident and by the time I remember it the crystal was gone. There was nothing left from my beautiful ring that I adore. But after 3 months we decided that we gonna buy a new one with the alliance. Now I am waiting for the wedding day to put both of the rings on.

All you ladies are so supportive! I did not have insurance coverage, nor can I get it back, but my FH and I picked out a replacement for it online. And he's so sweet, I was stressing about the expense and he said "I'll worry about that, just send me the link" he just wants me happy
As to memories of the proposal, I don't think I could forget it if I tried! We had talked about getting married and knew we would eventually but never made it official. One night, I was a bit drunk and I looked at him and said "okay, seriously, I really really love you. Please will you marry me, please?" The rings (he wears one too) came later.

It might not, but your wedding is quite a ways away and there is something very comforting about wearing the engagement ring... I'm sure you would grow to love the replacement as much as the original.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that!! The only thing I can think of, if you're worried about the sentimental value of getting a different ring, is maybe saving up and buying the exact same one? Obviously it's not the original - but I'm sure seeing the same ring will bring back the special memories of the proposal.

Why would you think it wouldnt have meaning? I think it would have to have meaning, regardless if you purchased another one. The memory of the proposal moment doesn't change, or what it represents. Try to think of it in a positive way......"I need to get a replacement asap because I loved it so much, and I want to have a ring back on my finger Asap!"
