Looking into starting the bridal registry.

Cristina, on October 18, 2017 at 00:43 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6

What to look out for when it comes to the bridal registry and how to even start?

Where to go?

I am not into online since there can be some downsides to it, so if you ladies have any suggestion what vendor is the best most worthy to start a bridal registry that would be great.

List a few vendors that was great for going with for bridal registry.

What to look out for?

What exactly goes on the registry?

Can it be anything you and your partner desire?

We are registering at Bed, Bath & Beyond as well. And also going to look into registering at Flight Centre once we have our honeymoon booked. We have been living together for 8 months now so there isn't much that we need as far as household stuff but we realise some people prefer to give gifts over money for honeymoons.

We are registering at Bed, Bath & Beyond because they have a lot of variety of items and they aren't super expensive in comparison to other options in our area. You can go in-store and work with a registry specialist and can go online as well. They are super helpful and offer the bride and groom some incentives to register with them.

You can register for anything you want for the most part. One good way to see your options is to go to a wedding show in your area if there is one coming up since most big stores with registries set up booths there. It sort of allows you to shop around all in one shot.

You can put what you want on there, but definitely, try to put multiple items of different price points so people who can't afford to give too much get stuck with no options that fit their budget. Another thing to look for is a registry that allows people to contribute an amount of money instead of picking an item. This way they can give within their budget and then you get to decide which remaining items not purchased you want to spend the pool of money on.

I think you can put anything on there. If it is an expensive item, people will likely purchase it as a group. We registered at The Bay for some items and we could do everything online or go in store. You can edit the list as much as you want and you can see what has been purchased.

A lot of brand name stores have the option for you to go in and use the scan gun and still "shop around". There will be a spot online for you and your guests to track or add anything you may have forgotten or didn't think you needed. However guests and yourself can still go into the store and see everything in a hard copy. We registered at The Bay (online and in store), and Kitchen Stuff Plus (in store only).
