Looking for wellness tips

Dana, on September 1, 2017 at 15:22 Posted in Before the wedding 0 10
Hey ladies. I'm sitting less than a year away from the wedding and starting to crack down on lifestyle choices now that everything is a little more fleshed out.
I googled up some wellness plan inspo and all I came across was how to get skinny fast, which isn't something that works for my health, mentally or physically and sort of made me lose a little confidence in my body. I suffer from hereditary PCOS and have weak knees with torn ligaments, and have gained weight as a result, and it is incredibly hard to lose any weight whatsoever. I'm looking to tone up for the big day, mostly the arms and hopefully take some weight off the lower abdomen as well without causing further damage or stress to my knees. What worked for you? Anyone else going through the same struggles?
Much love x

The ladies with PCOS in the group that I follow swear by it, and truthfully I suffer terribly with my monthly and a few other issues, swelling etc. It has done wonders for me. Just be careful with leg cramps, you will need potassium, magnesium, and drinking pickle juice will help with that also, Yes I said pickle juice lol.

I agree. some lose pounds, some lose inches. I don't eat a lot of carbs, so I'm not very big, but I also don't feel very good ever lol I'm hoping increasing the fat intake will just solve all my problems

In less then 2 months, and feel so much better, It helps with water retention and so much more. But not everyone losses the same, some see the weight loss on the scale, some don't but they are the inches coming off. It's really very amazing actually

If you facebook there are many keto groups with good info. Keto Connection, and Lazy Keto for women are good groups. PCOS Keto babies too after this lifestyle change for many.

Have you tried Pilates? Much of that is done on the mat so should take pressure off your knees, and it is a great workout for toning. Does swimming work for you?

Don't lose confidence in your body - your body is amazing and tough and worthy of love and respect. Hugs to you!

I have PCOS too and it's terrible. I don't have the weight but I have the hair cuz my testosterone is high lol. I also never ever get a cycle unless on hormones. I'm trying to navigate thru being healthier too. I know from experience that a low carb, grain free diet works wonders for losing weight. However, I read were suppose to increase the fat intake to be healthier. Have u researched paleo diet? I just bought a book by Leanne Vogel who also had hormonal issues and didn't get a cycle like us. It's called the keto diet. It's carb and dairy free which I appreciate cuz I don't do dairy. I don't do a lot of meat either so I pick and choose the recipes. But, she suffered same as us, with menstrual, hormonal, and weight problems. She stopped getting a cycle and put on weight, then she discovered keto but manipulated it to what works for her body. She got her cycle back in 9 months and dropped the weight. Her basic motto is low carbs, high fat. I just bought her book so I'm not cured yet, can't tell you if it actually works, but if u want to try it out, it sounds promising.

Have you tried doing a search to see if there are any blogs or websites focused on working out with your condition? I think that would be the best place to start.
