Looking for tips and recommendations for small wedding

Welcome and congratulations on your engagement! My husband and I got married a month ago at Mt Norquay ski resort in Banff, it was so beautiful! We had 90 people at our wedding, half from the US, and the venue was perfect for us. They are full-service and it was top-notch everything. I would recommend the venue to anyone. Because it is Banff you don't really get any kind of deals however. The hotels are pricey and offer very small discounts for groups/staying more than 3 days. We had a lot of no rsvp's because of cost. There is also the Park Pass fee.

We bought our cake from a local girl in Calgary and it was cheap and DELICIOUS. We rented our decos from a local girl too and got a great deal on those. And our photographer was absolutely incredible if you need recommendations!

So I just recently had my wedding in August and we did the exact thing you are looking for. We got married with 38 others in total in Banff and it was beautiful!

So first thing we did is hire the company Shotgun Wedding, they specialize in small weddings and elopements. They took care of planning, officiant, music and photography. They also have their own videographer. The biggest they host is 50 (place outside of Calgary). We did Tunnel Mountain Reservoir in Banff. We paid less than 2,000 extra from some other company for flowers and about $600 for chairs, easel and arch. Then we paid $500 more for a videographer for just our ceremony, first look and private vows. Here’s a photo from the ceremony!

Afterwards we book an area at a restaurant for the reception and it was a BLAST. We still had cake and dancing. We ended up booking the guides room that holds 40 people at park distillery which they have a minimum food and drink spend of $6000. We gave everyone 5 drink tickets and then they had to pay for themselves ( a lot of people were already buzzed by the time they were done their drink tickets), and we still got to do a first dance, cake cutting and a dance party all night! Everyone LOVED it. We got to make personalized menus, or you can use the ones they had, I did cute little place cards, still had flower centrepieces with their candles and the food was amazing, especially since my red deal chef grandfather was obsessed with the prime rib.

Overall, it was amazing and would do it again like this in a heartbeat !
