Live Streaming the Ceremony

Eimear, on April 11, 2018 at 11:17 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 6

Hi Brides & Grooms,

As we have some family abroad who can't join us for our wedding we thought a nice way to include them would be to give them a link to a live stream of our wedding. Unfortunately I have not found a way to privately do so. I'm wondering if anyone else is doing anything similar and how they are going about it?

Following this discussion, we have considered this, as my FH parents might not be able to make the 7hr drive to be there.
They are 85 and 90 years old, they do have a computer but not WiFi. Would love for them to be able to see the ceremony as it happens

We are using ustream. There is a free option which does have ads and is public. You can also pay (fiancé mentioned $100) and that won’t have ads and you can password protect it. We did a test today and there is about a 30 sec delay.

My cousin did this as she had friends in Singapore and Europe who wanted to join in. She used Skype as you can link more than one person into the call. She asked someone to be in charge the day of, and they just clicked on everyone's names as they logged into Skype to join in and watch. Skype does require some data from the phone, so maybe call your provider ahead of time to see if you can get a bigger package if you are worried about going over. I would say around 1GB would be good for a 45 minute ceremony (keeping in mind they may join in around 15 minutes beforehand, so about 1 hour worth of Skype).

We are doing the same thing! My fiancé did find one where you can have a password I am pretty sure. I’ll ask him and get back to you.

Unfortunately they are not altogether some are in Ireland and some are in Israel.

No wifi either, we are getting married in a park, but the data isn't really an issue. I was just thinking something where another app isn't needed by the viewer. Just a link they can click and that's it.

Are you able to do a skype type live stream? Does your venue have wifi that you could use. If you have the family abroad all together on there side you could try to do the skype call. just test out prior to make sure connect is good at the venue
