Limousine Advice

Adele, on July 12, 2018 at 11:20 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6

Hi Everyone!

Just wondering what you all did for you bridal party/ parents in terms of transportation to/ from houses, to/ from ceremony, to/ from reception?

Did you arrange pick up from the venue at the end of the night for yourselves or your bridal party?

Did you travel separately from you group?

Any rental recommendations in the Vaughan area?

Thanks!!

We skipped the limo service because of the cost and beacause our guests were at the venue the whole time.

You should arrange for travel for your bridal party and the parents as well. It helps to keep everyone together and keep things running smoothly and it’s also nice to just take that one extra thing off their plates that day.

We only have 2 min drive so I am going to line up a family member to drive me and my bridesmaids and then another to drive my parents. The guys will arrange something for themselves. We will have a car to drive ourselves to pictures and the reception after.

I am getting a city bus to transport guys to the ceremony. then get us girls. and then take the group for photos and to the hall. everyone can find their own way home/to the hotel. the city bus is WAY more affordable than a limo or party bus. and the nice thing, is that we are going to invite our wedding party's dates. that way they can join us on the fun. and I think my aunt and uncle will join us (they are my "parents" through all this since mine are passed away).

if you are doing ceremony and reception at 2 different locations. and getting ready somewhere else. the kind thing to do is provide some sort of transportation for your wedding party. it can be renting a couple of vans. or even doing uber. just make sure they don't have to worry about where they need to be.

Our venue is ceremony downstairs, reception upstairs, and the neighbouring parking lot gets reserved for our event (it's on University property).

We are doing a first look, and photos prior to the ceremony, but photos are all up in the same area as the venue, so we'll just be using regular cars to get from A to B....

We aren't doing any grand entrance or exit, so I don't feel the need to rent any fancy transportation that's unnecessary for us.

We are getting married in January, so there's no minimum time for limo rentals, so my hubby and I will probably get a one way limo ride from the venue to our airport hotel that night (we leave for our honeymoon the next morning). It will probably be the same price as the cab we would need to take otherwise.

Since we are doing a first look, we are only going to have one limo for the wedding party and all travel to the ceremony together.

As for family and guests, I think we will have to limit the limo to just our parents coming with us, and the rest of the family finding their own way there.

Also not made of money! lol.

Our ceremony and reception is close enough for everyone in the area to get to

I was considering a party bus for the wedding party to and from the wedding but now I'm thinking that they can drive out and meet us there as some may come out on Friday morning, Friday Evening, or Saturday Morning. Now I'm thinking that the only transportation that I will get is a big bus that will meet the guests at a central hotel and take them there to the wedding. From the wedding site we will probably arrange to have 2 times that the bus will leave for the city so that people can leave "early" and others can leave at last call. For this we will be charging guests $10 there and $10 back if they would like to take advantage of this. (we're not made of money!)
