Limo - Yes or No

Marsha, on April 13, 2022 at 20:57 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 19
I am looking into limo services and am wondering if there is another way. I plan to get ready at my home, then get a ride to the venue with a possible stop on the way for solo pics. Our venue is everything in one. Ceremony, photos and reception. I find $650 for a few hours is steep. Has anyone plan another way ie: Lyft, Uber? Or has any good limo referrals for 2hr service for a more feasible price. ?

We are using a limo, as we are being driven to another location for pictures before returning to the venue for dinner. In our research we found that at least some limo firms allowed service on an hourly basis, which might work for you.

I would just search town cars in your area. Some taxi companies are partnered with these luxury car services. When I just did a quick search at one locally here, its about $80/hour which is way more cost effective than a full limo service.

quick search and I found these:

    Toronto Car Service

    Toronto Airport Limo

Hmmmmm yes something to consider indeed. Do you think calling a Lyft or Uber is a good idea? Or can that be kinda tacky ?

The price of the limo for 2 hours would make sense if you're having the family and/or wedding party (bridal side) to join you for the drive. The stop can make sense if you want solo and some with the family and wedding party since it kills 2 birds with one stone concept.

The same cost for a classic can come out to be the same as a limo. Whatever you choose to do is going to have to make sense of taking pictures on the way or just avoid the cost in whole since your photos will be at the venue.

I would look into maybe renting a town car (usually found through taxi providers) They aren't usually more than a cab would be but use a more luxury car and can provide better scheduling than say an uber.

I'm likely going to look into that route - even if we are renting 2, as we will be getting out first look photos offsite and Im not about to drive myself around and unfortunately, neither my mom nor MOH drive so definitely need to find someone to do that for us haha

Haha no no I’m not! My grandma is fairly young not that kind of grandma 😂 she goes scuba diving and cliff climbing throughout the year, so she’s fine to drive! Lol

I didn't think it was worth it to spend extra money when there is a vehicle available that will work

Well that's always an option too, but hopefully you're not behind the drivers seat 😉

We were able to find a limo service that only charges one ways so we're not having to pay for a full 4-6 hours like most limo companies. I would maybe search around your area to see if they have something like that where you are.

Unless you're hoping to get your entire bridal party in one car for whatever reason, I would just get a cab or Uber for that one trip.
