Limo or no limo?

Meaghan, on August 13, 2019 at 15:46 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
We are very quietly eloping with just us and our kids. No guests, no party. Just a nice ceremony and then out for a nice dinner together.

I started to think about transportation to the ceremony and then to the restaurant and then home. In keeping with the very low key theme we were just going to drive our car. However if I'm getting into the car with a white dress I thought I should get it detailed, which isn't cheap.
So then I started thinking about hiring a driver/limo. On the one hand this seems a bit ridiculous and not so low-key. On the other hand, it's still a wedding and I've never actually been in a limo before. It also will allow us both to have a glass or two of wine with dinner, which would be nice.

Am I being silly even considering this? I received a really good quote for a 10 person limo, which sounds huge to me but it is what is available.

So I'm just going for it! I booked it for a great deal (the joys of getting married on a Wednesday!). I just thought, I have a huge wedding dress so it's not like I was going to be inconspicuous just because I was pulling up in a Kia. I'm considering this our splurge.

It is completely up to you! It would be nice to be treated a little even though you want it to be low key.
this way you don’t have to worry about someone driving and finding parking!

Low key wedding with low costs seems the best judgement to me. For the family and the amount, it doesn't justify what you would have to fork out beyond a simple dinner with them.

Not silly at all!!! If me and my FH were eloping like that then I would for sure plan on having transportation so that we could both really enjoy the night and not worry about alc.

Since you are eloping - why not splurge on this if it's what both of you want?

I think it is totally up to you. If it's within your budget and you want to do it, why not! It'll be something special for you both and your kids!
