Kids Table at Reception - invitation wording

Reeja, on July 12, 2019 at 18:27 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5
Hi!

so, we’ve decided to have a kids table at our wedding. A lot of our guests are flying in from abroad and a lot of them are new parents and we just thought it would be cute.

I wanted to include with the formal invitations a little excerpt about having a kids table and the guests’ kids ages and the activity they’d prefer. We wanted to only give choices and this is to really get a feel of what kids we can group together, how many tables we need and what activities we need to buy more of.

the three options I had was coloring , playdough, lego

It’s an indoor reception and will be quite glamorous so it would just be nice to have the kids also busy so parents can enjoy themselves .

Any ideas on the wording? Was thinking :
Got kids? We understand weddings can be boring for them. Let us make this a fun night out for them too by letting us know the following for their very own seat at the kids table - [ ] How old is/are your munchkin(s)?- [ ] Are they more of a: - [ ] Coloring guru - [ ] Lego genius - [ ] Playdough ????

This is such a fun idea, and I think the wording you've got there is great. Maybe consider hiring someone like a nanny to keep an eye on them too? It could keep things even more tame and also ensure no little ones are escaping onto the dance floor with their lego or running around with cap-less markers Smiley laugh

Thank you! I’m still conflicted but think it’s a good idea to have guests know what to expect .

I get why you want that information and if there is room on the invite to say all that I think it works great!

If not, maybe just change it to: Age(s)? Activity: [ ] Colouring* [ ] Lego [ ] Playdough

*Make sure to double check your spelling so you are using the proper way (colour - not color).

Kids Tables aren't usually put on the invitation.
As your guests will be entering the Reception, you can have Kids Table put on the chart or the names of the kids with Kids Table on the card. This way it will make it easy for them to know and see the variety of trying to choose what activity they want to pick. Assortment of all three activites can be per table allowing every child enjoying all of them.

I do say this as its been done at some of my cousins wedding and a nanny was hired to keep them busy while the adults enjoyed their evening.
