I'm probably going to skip, but if my mom or anyone gives me something I'll use it.

It's not part of our traditions (French-Canadian). I only know of this tradition because of movies and American bridal magazines.

Keep! This means a lot to my mother. I'll receive something old from my mother, something new is my dress, and blue will be the garter.

This is something I don't think I am going to have a choice on because it is somethingvmy mother and aunts have always done and it is probably going t be one of those things that they do which does not bother me at all because I like this tradition!

For something blue I am getting my seamstress to sew in a blue heart or our wedding date written at the bottom inside of my dress, in blue fabric

Sapphire jewelry is one way to go if you know someone who has earrings or something that you could borrow. Depending on your wedding colour and theme, you could also wear blue shoes. I know someone who wore blue cowboy boots as her wedding shoes, so much comfier than heels!

The bridal salon where I got my dress gives a white garter with a blue ribbon as a gift so that could have been my something blue but I don't think my dress will work with a garter and we are not doing a garter toss it seems useless anyway.
