Just Getting Started...

Courtney, on June 23, 2021 at 12:59 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5

Just starting to finally plan things out for a October 1st, 2021 wedding! Exciting! We have put off the date a few times, Covid also played a part in this. As everything starts to open back up though I am finding that many vendors are not returning any of my request for information emails. Anyone else in the same boat?

Since your wedding is coming up, a lot of vendors are already booked and if they're not replying to you, they might be really busy with upcoming weddings that they already have in place, I wouldn't wait too long if they're taking too long to reply or not even replying at all. I would move on and find someone else. I'm sure you'll find some great vendors for your wedding day Smiley heart

Vendors communication at this point of re opening may seem longer due to rescheduling previous couples postponement dates and new clients also reaching out. Don't wait for just the ones you want to book. Contact other vendors to get responses as fast as the next day and move on from there. Yes pandemic did play a role and my leader at work is a photographer who works with 2 others along for videography. They just started up one weekend since the opening and does get back to others fast. I hope you do find the vendors to build your team. When planning for the wedding back in 2016, I also did my search and contacted many vendors to get quotes and packages as possible for the best deal. Eventually I did find all my vendors to make a cash deal which worked out great.

Vendors are likely prioritizing upcoming weddings but regardless, if they're taking a long time to respond (ie more than 5 days), I would move on.

    Hello Courtney,
Happy that you’re starting to finally plan. I guess you meant 2022 instead of 2021. Hahaha! It might take sometime as they are trying to sort out the other plans for current weddings. How long have you been waiting?

I have been waiting a few days in Alberta just as everything is starting to open up as well. I don't think it is intentional, I think with everything opening up again, vendors are slammed with not only new requests but also communicating with those who have already booked, paid deposits and have had to post-pone their dates numerous times. So they probably have a ton of people to get ahold of and are working their way through. Some places take usually 2-3 business days to get back, but with everyone in full planning mode now that the world is going back to somewhat normal, it make take a few days longer.

Now if you have been waiting like 7 business days and no answer at all- I wouldn't bother, that's too long. But if they got ahold of you and said they will try to get the information as soon as possible because they are slammed, then I would wait a bit longer.
