June 26 2021 Wedding

Teresa, on January 4, 2021 at 21:35 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7
Hello everyone,

I am at a standstill right now with Covid as I don’t know if I will be able to have my wedding by June 26,2021! I found bridesmaids dress that I would like to order for my girls but I am afraid to buy it right now. Same goes for a DJ as we haven’t booked a DJ yet.... Not sure what is the best thing to do anymore.

Hey!! Exciting to see another bride that has the same date as me and I’m not alone!! We originally had a guest list of around 80 ppl and will def need to cut it down to 50 if and I hope by June the numbers go up. I don’t mind having only 50 ppl. However if it is still 10 ppl in June, I’m thinking we still do the ceremony and get married with close 10 family/ friend’s and push the reception to whenever they allow to invite everyone. My venue won’t say anything until we get closer to the date unfortunately

Our original guest amount was about 80 ppl and I wouldn’t mind if it went down to 50 min. My plan right now is if by June, the number of ppl is still 10. I think we will still have the ceremony and get married but push our reception to when we can invite everyone. So right now I will still get my BM dress but wait until feb to see if we need to book DJ or not ... ugh very frustrating:/

Standstill on wedding planning is hard to make decisions unknowing of what's to happen for June. A small simple wedding may work if you have doubts of ordering BMs dresses at the time for the full guest list attending to your day. DJ to book doesn't make sense if you feel the less guests attending. A playlist is enough to put together for the evening portion of the day.

Hey wedding date twin! I hear you about the stress. We’re getting the the point where we are cutting our guest list and changing venues (we’ll save the deposit in our original venue for an anniversary bash in the future- which will be the real party since we can’t have one now) and will likely follow through with a 50 guest wedding. If you’re okay with compromise, chances are you will be able to have a wedding by end of June. I certainly am hoping so!

Are you planning on getting married regardless? If you are, you can order the BM dresses. If not, than you can hold off. In addition, where are you getting your BM dress from? We got ours at Davids' Bridal and they are holding onto ours until were ready for them if we need to make any adjustments, etc

The likelihood of being allowed a wedding by June is high. It's just a matter of how many people you're allowed and what you can or can't do at the wedding.

Would you postpone if you can't have everything you want that day? Ie guest count, dancing, etc or are you moving forward with any type of restriction no matter what? If you're moving forward, even if restrictions are in place, and your bridal party will be involved, you might as well get the dresses.

If you're considering postponing, then you might want to wait. We postponed from a winter wedding to fall and chose silver as a colour. Not that we're unhappy with the colour - it's not the end of the world, but if we had a choice to re-do, we likely wouldn't go with silver for a fall wedding. If you absolutely want to stick to your colour no matter what season, then go for it. Might as well get it before inflation or seasonal price changes kick in.

If you end up having a much smaller wedding will you still want a DJ? If people have to wear masks and dance 6 feet apart are you ok with that? I would look into whether the DJ would allow you to refund a deposit or if they will charge you to change a date before booking. That way if your plans change you're covered and if we can party by June you're also covered!

As far as the dresses, if you have a smaller wedding or change your date will you still have bridesmaids? If so I would get them soon because waiting could lead to shipping delays.
When we went into lockdown in March I stopped any planning that couldn't be used at a later date. So we stopped picking invitations and we didn't order any decor elements with our date on them *just in case* we had to change the date. No matter when you get married you'll want shoes and jewelry and a cake topper etc. so those things are a little safer to plan and order during the more uncertain times.
