July 2019!!

Megan, on May 23, 2018 at 13:23 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9

Hey Guys Smiley smile

I'm getting married in July of next year!! I feel like it is so far away but still so close. Just wondering what I should have done already or what is a time line? I know a year is usually average to start everything. I have my photographer booked as they were already booking summer 2019. I have my Venue booked, so no one can take the date. and then that's about it. I am still working on my guest list and wont be sending out Save the dates until End july or August.

Main Question!! When should I go dress shopping? Is july of this year good? Giving me a year to get it ordered and altered...etc? I live in a small town so would need to plan a weekend to travel to Edmonton or Calgary.

Thanks All!!!

I am getting married on August '19 and have booked quite a few vendors in one month: Venue (ceremony and reception at the same site), officiant, photographer and cinematographer. I am going to book makeup and hairstylist next, then take a break because all the first deposits are taking a toll on one month of spending. The wedding planners must be surprised because they are wondering if I want to keep on going with the momentum, or take a break after my next vendor booking. I know it seems quite rushed since I got engaged in the middle of April (returned from vacation at the end of the month) and settled with booking with a wedding planner team exactly one month ago, but I want to book the most important vendors first (when there are still so many options out there). If you come across a popular vendor and you are in love, I suggest meeting up with them as soon as possible and booking if your heart is set on them. That way you will have no regrets and "what if's" if someone snatches them away.

When it comes to dresses, it is never too early to start looking! No matter what style of dress you wear, none of them ever go out of style, and the more you try, the more you know what kind you want. Do remember that what you like and/or envisioned in your mind may not be the one and something you did not expect to like might be the one you end up choosing. I have been told that the latest a person should go dress shopping is 9 months because when it comes to ordering and alterations, you should give them about that many months to prepare. Keep in mind there are also trunk shows, whether it be at a store or at an actual convention, so keep an eye out for it! You could save quite a bit of money if you find the one at an event.

Hey! I'm an August 2019 bride (the 4th, so just a little past July lol) and I already have my venue, ceremony site, DJ, and photographer booked. This month I plan to book my florist, officiant, send out STD's, book hair and makeup artists.

I believe I will be going dress shopping in June Smiley smile I am sooo excited for this part, but also nervous because it is such a big part of the wedding to me. Thanks for making me feel less crazy to go dress shopping a year before the wedding! lol

July is peak wedding season, after booking your venue start with photographers & officiant. Those are the top 3 things that were on my list to book first.

Congratulations I am getting married July 2019 as well.

We booked the venue right right away as it was getting booked with other people we didn’t want to miss out. I have a photographer, DJ, florist, I have made my own centrepieces, I have my dress, I’m doing bridesmaid dresses this weekend, I have the favours for the guests partially done, we sent out save the dates because we have friends that live over seas and across Canada. We wanted to make sure they have enough time to save up for it. And I have the photobooth.

I know I am way ahead of the game but when half of it is diy I wanted to get ahead of everything.

CONGRATS!!! i'm a july 2019 wedding as well. We were engaged in February.
I have gone dress shopping a few times as I wanted to do "homework" and try on different styles of dresses (and one of the weekends my bridesmaid was visiting from out of town so it was fun). I have a date set for wedding dress shopping with my aunt (she like a parent too me) for end of July as I really wanted her there. Goal is to find the dress that weekend.

I have already booked reception venue, photographer, dj. Going to book a ceremony space in the next week. Goal is to have a decorator and officiant by mid-june.
I wanted things done early so that as I save some extra cash I can pay extra money towards vendors that way the month of the wedding i'm not putting out a ton of cash.

also....so much books up so quickly.

Congratulations! I got engaged of October 2016 and started planning immediately, mostly because we have such a small amount of vendors to choose from in our city. We immediately booked the vendors and venues that we knew we absolutely wanted. We booked our venue, photographer, and decorator right away. I did actually start shopping for my dress right away. A lot of people tell you to wait because of the changes made all of the time to styles, but honestly, if you fall in love with a dress and believe it is THE ONE then go for it! BUY THE DRESS!!! It doesn't hurt to start now!
