Is catering covered by your venue, or are you hiring a separate company?

Who's cooking your food?? 🍳

Did you hire a venue that also covers the catering and bar service? Or are you hiring a catering company that is separate from your wedding venue? When you were looking at venues, were the catering options a deal-breaker for you?

Our venue had a list of preferred caterers to choose from or you can choose to bring an outside caterer with an additional fee. For us, the venue was a priority so we just went with it! It’s a lot more work but it’s what we want 😂

We chose a venue that specifically took care of everything! We didn't want to go through the hassle of first picking a venue, then a caterer.

The food at your venue is legit the reason I keep making jokes about crashing. Their food is just so good! I can still taste the little quesadilla canapés and it’s been several months!

My venue also provides food and I’ve only ever heard really good things about the food so I’m very excited!

Our venue will be covering the catering, which we're pumped about!

Most of the venues we looked at covered catering, except for one when we toyed with the idea of a cocktail-style reception (not sit down meal).

Our venue does the catering, and is well known in the Italian community in the area. Great food! They have a showcase twice a year that we get to go to and basically eat everything on their entire menu and pick what we like!

We wanted a place with in-house catering and that's what we got. Much more convenient to have them take care of everything and the food was excellent Smiley smile

Separate company, which is what I wanted. We wanted tacos so we hired one of the restaurants in town and they also allow us to bring outside food in so we can make more "kid friendly" options and some salads and stuff!

Catering was part of the services with our venue. The choices given was great to choose from many based on cocktail food to late night buffet.

Our venue has a restaurant and bars on different levels so they will be handling our catering and alcohol, which we viewed as a plus as it’s one less contact to worry about coordinating with.

Covered by our venue. We’ll probably be doing a tasting sometime in February-March. Can’t wait!

Catering is included in the venue cost, along with cakes, decor, and DJ. So much less headache and things to do.

Our venue only works with a certain full-service caterer, so they are individual companies but come as a pair. You can hire the caterer separately, but the provide all of the glassware/dinnerware/servers/bussers/setup/hors d'oevres/meal/late night station/bartender/teardown etc. So it feels like they come together. It's great because when we arrive we eon't have to do ANYTHING.

Our venue has in-house food/bar, and it's what all their reviews RAAAVE over... I'm so excited for the food at our wedding! They don't do tastings, but we had the option to go to any of their public restaurant events throughout the year... We decided not to. I haven't seen a single negative review about my venues food, and in the coordinators office there are even hand-written cards from brides saying their guests just raved about the food. YUM YUM YUM.

We are getting married at a Hotel, so the catering is though them. The food is amazing. It’s definitely more expensive, but I’m glad it’s one less vendor to worry about.

I hired a seperate company, my venue used to do catering but they don't anymore. The people we hired don't allow a tasting, but they have AMAZING reviews so we are just gonna wing it with our fingers crossed!

We wanted catering to be covered by our venue so that's what we booked! We'd rather pay a little more for the convenience of a one-stop shop venue.

Catering won't be covered by the venue and thank God!

We basically looked high and low to find a venue where we could bring in our own catering and booze as most venues that did packages would be making us use their "executive chefs" which all had a starting base price of $30/ meal X 250 people = $7,500 before tax... almost half of our budget.

Catering is not covered by our venue.
We appreciate the flexibility and were able to get one of our favourite brunch spots cater instead.
