Is a colour palette necessary?

Alyssa, on October 3, 2020 at 11:18 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
I am not super fond of being stuck with only one colour for my wedding. I pick one and then about a month later I change my mind. I’m not doing any decorations because my venue doesn’t need it, and we’re only having our sisters stand with us, and they are picking their own dresses. So the only thing I need to pick colours for is flowers. I want tulips at my tables, and I had this idea of having a different colour at every table. Our wedding is small so I think we are only having 6 -8 tables. Does this seem tacky? Should I just stick to a colour palette?

You feel you don't need colour palettes to have for your wedding, don't stress about it. Its not necessary to have it unless you did have a plan to make it happen.

We had a fusion wedding that colour has vibrancy adding to it as well as our outfits. We kept it simple yet elegant.

Do what is best for you both even if it means having floating candles in vases filled with water.

Alyssa, everyone has their own preferences & you shouldn’t feel pressured to have a colour palette. Your wedding day is meant to be just the way you want it & you deserve that & more.

I chose a colour palette simply because I wanted the visual aesthetic to be a certain way & I went with the season of which my wedding is in.
Same goes for a theme, not required but many people choose to have one. Love should be the only theme & focus of your special day.

Colour palettes are only used to unify a specific look but if you don't care for that then no need to stick to one. If your party is that small anyway, everyone probably knows each other and there won't be any need visual identifier for bridesmaids and groomsmen so this is your chance to be creative.

I think you can get away with having so specific palette. I like the idea of using the same type of flower but in different colours at each table

No you don't have to have a colour palette at all. Do what will make you happy. I think if all your flowers on tables are same flowers in different colours that would look nice. Just make sure you'll like the overall for pictures.

If you’re not having any decorations or any themes, you can probably get away with no palette. Are your parties holding bouquets or having boutonnières? That might be the only thing you would need to coordinate just to be sure you didn’t match say red flowers with a green dress and accidentally get a Christmas vibe with someone.
