Invitations - What Else to Include?

Marcy, on February 12, 2020 at 11:26 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 13

Hey Ladies Smiley smile

My MOH and I are working on getting everything together for our invitations, and I'm wondering what all we should include aside from the actual invite. So far we have:

- The Invitation

- RSVP Card

- Detail Card (with info on accommodations, reception & ceremony need to know details)

- A Map of the Area w/ Written Travel Instructions

Can you think of anything else that should be included? Our ceremony is in a country church, kind of off the beaten path and the reception is at a hall about 20 minutes away. We included information about our website as well. Anything else you can think of?

My MOH and I used a glue stick for the envelopes, it worked wonders! I also created an Excel sheet with the guests and their addresses so that I can create labels to print. It saved a ton of time by just placing a sticker instead of handwriting everything out.

I thought of something else: a glue stick so you don't need to lick any envelopes!

You can also wet a sponge, but our office uses glue sticks and they're a tongue saver.

I'm skipping the mailed RSVP cards - after my friend had a disastrous experience with them. I'm just inserting a card directing to my wedding website ("Please visit our wedding website to RSVP, information hotel accommodations and more!" and of course with the URL/a link to it).

The envelopes for everything, a return envelope for the reply card, reply card, accommodations card (hotel and map etc), the invitation itself, some people do a map card (instead of adding it to the accommodations page), menu card, reception card, luncheon or entourage card as well. i mean you dont need all of those. mine is a single laser cut sheet and it refers everyone to our website that has all the info maps, hotels and pricing, parking, times, locations etc etc

Dress code considered for guests to be aware when they come? Its a nice way to have them prepared and not feel less dressed than others.

All the information your providing is great and in a way I had the same except for the detail card sent out. There were 2 invitation cards printed to separate information for guests. One being the ceremony and Reception held at the same venue and the other for RSVP with Accommodations for room block reservations to book themselves. This is the way I came up with the idea. Double sided card can be useful to add the map and directions to save on having a separate card to add.

Stamps! Don't forget to pre-address the envelopes for your RSVPs to make them simple to return.

For ours we did the invitation, a reply card (with RSVP date, entree choice, and area to check off whether they're attending, and a space for dietary restrictions), maps, accommodation card. One other card I asked FH about was a photo card - detailing the photo location for any family photos. This is helpful for us because our photos are being done later just before the reception but FH has decided to do word of mouth instead. But just a thought in case you need it Smiley smile

I'm just putting it out there because I forgot and had to quickly cancel and reorder mine - don't forget the RSVP deadline date! lol I told them where to RSVP but forgot they needed to know when they had to do it by!
