Invitations assembly

Rekramer, on January 30, 2018 at 09:25 Posted in DIY 0 10
My save the dates are finally in the mail which means it’s time to turn my mind to invitations. We’re planning on creating our own laser-cut outer part, and gluing the typical invitations into the outer colourful part. The question I have is, how did people add each persons/families names to each invitation? My handwriting is not artistic and i was planning on feeding each invite through the printer but I’m not sure how that would work. Any thoughts on invitation assembly would be appreciated!

We only put people's names on the envelop, not the invitation itself.

We are not adding everyone's names to the invitation itself, but, if you feel you want to and don't have very good handwriting, you could always print them on labels and attach the labels to the invitations.

Agreed. I am putting generic invitation out to everyone, but putting peoples names on the envelope the invitation will be stuffed into. If it is a family, The blah blah Family. If it is couple I will write out his name & her name then last name.

The invitations themselves don't necessarily need to have the people's names you are inviting on them. The envelope is where you put the names of the people you are inviting.

The names of the guests you're inviting just go on the outer envelope.

If it's a family you write "The blah blah family" on the front of the envelope? I didn't write each name of the guest on the invites.

But where did you write the names of the people on each invite?

We used our printer to do the envelopes. We both don't have the greatest hand writing so we figured it would be the easiest way. We actually just sent them out this morning!

But you hand-wrote everyone’s names on them?

I recruited a few friends with good writing and provided lunch and drinks. I didn’t realize how long it would take, ours we’re basic. Using jute to tie the rsvp and invitation together, only 85 invitations and it took 3 of us 5 hours to do 60..
