Invitations

Sara, on April 13, 2017 at 12:24 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10

Hi guys! I'm looking into invitations and I'm really stumped... I love the look of the intricate invitations with the foil and glitter but I'm just not sure if it's in the budget. There are some on Vistaprint that I like but they aren't as fancy, although we did do our Save the Dates through Vistaprint and we loved them! What is everybody else doing for invites? Should I suck it up and pay for the ones I want or save the money and get the ones that are more in the budget?

There is a glitter roll available at michaels to put on the edge of the invitation. Inexpensive and less effort to add that touch.

    I've been looking at https://www.zazzle.com

    prices are good

But I'm going to create and print my own, I'm a computer tech, so easy enough for me to do. I've just been using the site for inspiration. As you can customize it with your own info and preview it to see what it would look like (hint screen shot). I'm going to figure out what is going to be cheaper me printing (cost of cartridges for the printer and my time) or buying from a supplier.

Vistaprint is awesome but u could also add glitter and foils urself afterwards to spice it up if u want. I'm a DIY QUEEN and I ordered mine thru them and spiced it up with some burlap and lace to go with my theme. But in the end it's ur wedding, do what u think will be worth it in the end

We are getting ours from minted...lots of great invitations and many styles and lots that are fancy without a huge price tag! We got the sample pack in the mail and loved it!

I just want to thank everyone for their help! We ended up designing our own invitations and ordering them from Vistaprint. They are beautiful and personal and mean so much more than glitter and foil. Thanks again! ❤

There are other ways you can add glitter or foil to your invites in a way. I'm just doing classic black & white invites but I'm lining the envelopes with blush and gold scrapbook paper. The block of paper cost me $20 at Michaels, there's templates for liners online and they're easy to add yourself. There's probably something you like if you're waiting to add some glitter.

I'm not certain if I'm addressing the envelopes in gold like I had originally planned but that's something you can easily do to add some glitz.

Only you know where you want to spend your money in the budget maybe wait until you have a few other things nailed down to know if it's worth it for you to spend the extra cash?

Vista print. yes, its not as fancy. but it isn't one of th elasting items or the ones that make your guests have more fun. every time i struggle with a budget item, i ask myself "is this one of the key items to making this the party of my dreams?" if its a yes, go for it. otherwise, no point in shelling out for something that won't make a difference in your happiness.

I got great invites on Vista Print for my engagement party! One thing you can do is pay them a $5 fee to work on a design for you! They will update their templates etc! And they give you the $5 design credit back when you order. Win win situation! The other option is to pay a for a pdf on etsy then go to staples or a printer and get them done. More work but certainly keeps the costs down! My invite quote was over $1000, and even with me trying you keep the invitation suite at $5 each my bill was still $800. I would rather put that money into food or something for our guests. I got lucky and had a contact at a printing company who offered to do them for me! But I don't think I would have paid even $8.00, not to mention postage etc! Good luck!

Vistaprint is amazing. I got 60 invitations, RSVPs and stickers for $80. The invitations look great. It really depends on how important it is to you.
Obviously invitations are important but there are two thing I was not willing to spend tons of money on (Invitations and flowers)

We got ours on vistaprint. We waited until there was a 50% off sale to get the ones that we loved. If you got your save the dates from there, you can probably do an invitation that matches your save the dates. We have the same design for our save the dates, invitations and thank you cards!
