Invitations

Shannon, on July 8, 2019 at 15:18 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 8
Hi guys. I'm having a hard time thinking of the proper words in reguards to attire. I am doing a formal wear attire. Not black tie, but formal. A large part of the guest do not have suits and fancy dresses due to income. Nothing of there fault. But I still want them to dress there best.
Thanks

Thank you Tori, this is genius. I also don't want my guest wearing jeans sneaker or tshirts. Our venue is very classy and I want everything to be a clean classic look.

Yes this is true. I don't want the guest to not come. Maybe they will feel it's "not up there alley" so to say

What I was concerned about was that there would be people wearing jeans to my wedding which I really want to avoid. For that reason I put on my wedding website that it is semi-formal (no jeans!). This way I could explain on a blog post that as laid back as I want this wedding to be - it's still a wedding!!

Attire: Formal is simple enough to put on the invitation to have your guests what they can and not have to break the bank.

I did put semi-formal attire for the wedding and Black Tie Attire for the reception. Its always up to you and FH how you want to have your guests to come.

    Hi Shannon,
Here's an article describing the different dress codes for both men and women: https://www.invitationsbydawn.com/content/wedding-dress-code-101/

I would stay away from using the word "casual", like Semi-Formal instead of Dressy Casual (like it says in the article). That way, guests will get the idea that it's a fancier affair without being black tie.

I would say formal attire and if they have questions or concerns they could contact you- I know when people asked me when said formal and new they didn't have dress pants, I said khaki pants were fine and dress shirt
