Chelsea, on January 11, 2019 at 18:17 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
I have just finally decided on the venue and now I am wondering how long before the wedding should I send out invitations ? Also how long before the wedding should I have people RSVP by ? Thank you for any input !!

Generally you want to send a Save the Date as soon as you are 100% committed to your date/venue. (Probably in the 9-12 month range)....

Then the official invitation goes out around the 3-4 month mark. If it's a local wedding, I'd probably say mail them just after, or on, the May long weekend. Then they will arrive to your guests a little outside the 3 month mark.

I like - and agree - with this!

We’re about to order our invitations for our August 4th wedding and will be sending them out by the 4 month mark.

Make sure you have enough time from your RSVP date and the day your venue needs final numbers. You may need to chase a few people.
I am planning on sending our invites out in July/August for our October 4th wedding. RSVP date is September 1

General speaking for sending out invitations should be a 2 month mark with 1 month prior RSVP response timing.

I know what city and date my cousin is getting married in September this year, yet the details of the occasions not yet and attire wear. Her parents will be sending out the invitations 2 months prior to the wedding date.

Depends on the type of wedding and your catering etc deadlines but invitations are typically sent out 3-4 months in advance, with rsvp’s being about 6-8 weeks in advance.

We’re getting married in April 2019. Sent the save the dates in September and the invitations in December. We did it a bit differently bc we’re having it a destination wedding and wanted folks to have enough time to plan.

As far as I'm aware the invites can go out anywhere from the 6 month mark to the 2 month mark on average (although they can go sooner or later if you want/need), and the RSVP just needs to be in more times than not at your 1 month to the day. So for me, my wedding date is October 5th so I want to have a final head count by September 5th.
