Including My Brothers

Holly, on February 15, 2018 at 17:22 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 11
Hello all!
I want to include my two brothers, at the time of the wedding they will be aged 29 (for 7 more days) and 18 (for 3 for days). I'm just not sure how to include them. Neither of them would be comfortable doing MC or anything like that. There is no room in the wedding party for them. My sister is a bridesmaid and I just feel a bit guilty that she has a big role and they don't. I was thinking having them as honourary bridesmen? But what would that do other then just the title? I also consider them as ushers but once again I'm not sure what really comes along with that. Any ideas? Anyone in the same situation?

Thank you!!

Yeah I was hoping I can get the to say a speech, I think my older brother will be cool with it but my younger may just stand with him but not talk lol and I'm definitely leaning towards having them as ushers!

    Ushers and perhaps a speech??

Ushers would just escort guests to their seats at the ceremony.

I think ushers and a joint speech would be perfect!

I’m in the same situation. I have my fiancé’s sister standing as a bridesmaid but neither of my 2 brothers are involved in the wedding party. One is 25 and one is 16. I talked to the 25 year old and gave him the option of standing as a groomsman before my fiancé actually asked him because I figured he wouldn’t really be interested and he said he would rather just attend as a guest. I would still like to include them both somehow though.

I considered that but I don't want to take that away from my dad.

Could they maybe help walk you down the aisle?

Do whatever feels right. Ushers would probably be a good idea then.

Yeah I've been leaning towards having them as ushers and wearing something similar to the groomsmen. They definitely wouldn't do any readings, as well as we aren't having any in the ceremony. I'm hoping they will have a joint speech together.

Usher's could be a good idea.

Typically ushers can get ready with the groomsmen and take a limo with them (or you can skip this part!)

They are at the ceremony space before guests arrive and as guests arrive, help seat them or direct them where to sit/go. They can have a tie on or I've seen a shirt or suspenders that matches the bridal party.. so not the whole same outfit, but similar!

And then of course you can take some nice pictures with them!

You could also ask them to do a nice reading maybe during the ceremony? Whether its a poem or a short exert about love. It can be short and sweet.

I don't think just a shoutout is really including them. My fiance is happy with however j choose to include them. He only has one brother, who is a groomsmen, so he doesn't have this issue. He has no ideas for me lol

You could have a special shoutout to them? What does your fiancé think?
