I would stay in Picton at one of the many B&Bs. There's tons of cute restaurants around. Sandbanks Provincial Park is a must. There's tons of breweries and wineries around, and you can bring bikes or rent them. Parsons Brewing was a lot of fun, and Sandbanks Estate Winery or Three Dogs Winery are always winners.

Theres a local cafe called cafe fifty four they do picnic boxes on the weekend to go so we grabbed one went for a ride and as soon as we set up our picnic our friends sent us a link to a video that they had made for us 😭 it was very sweet. Since wineries can open as of friday and hopefully they stay like that you can do a wine tour on a bike too! And then picnic at the end or in between the bike ride. Ive never been to Prince Edward County but my friends who have been love the wine tours and just staying at a hotel or bnb and relaxing!

Not sure if Prince Edward County's sandbanks are staying closed as I know a bunch of major beaches in the province, like Cobourg and Wasaga, have decided to shut down for the whole summer to avoid tourists from the GTA.

If you want something more intimate, I suggest a small town over Niagara. Places like Stratford, Paris, and Port Hope have so much scenery to enjoy during the summer months. I would only pick Niagara if you're trying to avoid quiet streets after 8pm lol. If you want more nightlife, an alternative to Niagara is Ottawa. Lots of museums and galleries if that's your thing, as well as the canal. Their restaurant selection will also be much better than the Niagara tourist traps and there are enough bars open at night if you want to be out instead of inside a room. Hotels will likely be cheaper in Ottawa compared to Niagara.

Niagara on the Lake or Prince Edward County? Bring bikes, tour the wineries, and drink a lot of wine!

Postponing the wedding is a hard choice to make though its the only way to celebrate with your loved ones present next year. Enjoy a getaway of your choice you both like to do. Friends coming along is nice to get the time to have company.

So sorry you have had to postpone. We are in the same boat and we have booked a camping trip with a couple of friends for the original date of our wedding. Something we love to do and will keep my mind off everything else.... hopefully.

Niagara is always a beautiful spot to get away too! I also love Niagara-on-the-Lake. That could be so intimate and relaxing, and especially in August there will be lots of things to do like bike rentals, wine tours, etc.

Awwe I'm so sorry that you've had to postpone. My fiance and I have postponed our August 8th wedding as well until next August.

We're planning on going away to our lake house the weekend that was supposed to be our wedding weekend.

Our wedding was supposed to be on June 6th so we went for a nice bike ride in niagara on the lake and a picnic. You could do one night in prince edward county perhaps do a wine tour? Or niagara on the lake too

Aaawwww. Honestly hard to say what will happen by then but what about a getaway perhaps to Niagara? Or Niagara-in-the lake. Kind of hard to make any additional plans given the circumstances 😢
