How would you write...

Chelsea, on January 16, 2019 at 22:49 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4

... a formal request letter? Basically what I want to do is ask the local fire station (volunteers) if they would be willing to be our DD's for a few hours the night of the wedding (our official ending is 11:00 pm but we want to after party at a friends place in the country) to get people home as there is no taxi service in town and calling one would cost way more then it's worth (like at least $1000). I'm just not sure how to word it. We aren't wanting to do it for free though, we want to offer a donation to the hall in exchange.

Any ideas on how to write it out?

How about asking if they would be kind to help by helping giving their time for a few hours on the MO/DD/YR to ensure your guests gets home safe and that their time would be grateful. Some of the firemen can come out that night if possible. A donation would be offered to the hall for your services in return.

I wouldn't go as far for all them since there may be times if they have an emergency during that time. It would be nice of them not to charge, though its hard to tell honestly. Give it a try and good luck to you.

That's a really tough one. I've never heard of anything like that, and really am not sure how you'd go about it. First thing I'd probably do is talk to the fire chief to see if it's something they would even consider - if it isn't, then there's no point in writing a letter.

I have which is why we want to go this route. We live in a remote area so getting any company of any kind to come in would (like I said) cost way more then what we can afford. Most family members will be leaving right after dinner so getting them to come back out at 3am is a hard no for them.

That's why we wanted to see if the local fire hall would volunteer for a donation.

Now that is something that I never heard of... hmm...

Have you already looked into transportation rentals like a bus or something and have one of your family members be a DD?

Otherwise, if it's your last resort... I mean, I don't know how I would start it but definitely try and kiss up to them?
