How to Make Friends in the Community

Joey, on October 10, 2017 at 15:10 Posted in Tech support 0 1

Making friends is one of the most important aspect of this community. Even if you live miles away, there are other special people here who are going through the same challenges, decisions, frustrations, and joys as you are. We are all here to offer our virtual support to one another, as well as our advice of course.

Let's get the ball rolling and start making friends. Here's a short guide:

1. Participate in discussions

Have a look at the discussions taking place in the community and participate by commenting in the ones you find interesting. That way, you'll find other people with similar interests, tastes, and inspirations, and you can exchange ideas with them. It's just as important to give advice as to receive it!

2. Create discussions

Bring your own ideas to the table. These can be inspirational posts, advice-sharing, support threads, chats, technical questions... You can read all about the types of discussions you're able to start in our guide to community discussions. Asking your questions to the community will help you to get relevant answers from couples who know what you're going through, and being in the same boat is a great way to start making new friends.

3. Send messages

Have you found someone you want to ask a question directly to? You can send them a message right to their inbox. It's just another way to get to know your fellow community members better. Go to their profile page and click "Message"

4. Post on walls

Did you know you can write on the walls of other members? Head to their profile and the "My Wall" tab to write them a special message of encouragement or support Smiley heart

Go to a member's profile by clicking on their profile picture. Click the button "Follow" to send them a friend request. Your future friend will now receive a notification in their WeddingWire inbox about your friend request.

6. Accept friend requests

Go to your profile to see if you have any pending friend requests. Click on the "Friends" tab and your pending friend requests will be right at the top. Click Accept or Reject on each friend request.
