How many dress shops?

Thank you all! I’m planning on visiting a few shops in a few weeks when my mom comes to visit for the weekend 😊

I visited two stores a total of three times. Went to store 1 and didn't find the dress, went to store 2 and was pretty sure I found the dress, then went back to store 1 to try on the dress from store 2 and take advantage of a trunk show haha.

I probably tried on 50 dresses, which is a lot, but I'm very picky and I only liked maybe 4 or 5 out of all of them. I just had my first fitting the other day and I'm so happy with my dress!

Absolutely not! I went to David's Bridal first just to get a feel for everything. I found one there that was a top contender but I was clear that I would need time to think about it and would come back if I needed (which I had every intention of doing). The second shop was a great experience and I found three there that made me forgot about the one at David's ... but I obviously needed time to narrow it down, so I booked a follow up appointment with them a week later. They completely understood and were very patient with me and my decision making process.

At the next two shops, I was clear that I had a one to beat and that was why I was there. One shop provided terrible service so I don't feel bad about not returning. The last shop actually followed up with me via email (which I thought was great service!!), so after I had purchased my dress, I emailed them and explained that I would not be returning. They were very understanding and excited.

Just one. I'm my city people joke that "everyone finds their dress in Sussex" so when I couldn't get appointments at another shop that sold a designer I liked I called Lockhart's and they had a cancellation. It was meant to be.


My mom and I did go to a wedding dress show before that, but we were definitely not intending to buy anything.

View quoted message That’s what I wanted to do! With covid they cancelled the spring/summer ones in Ontario and at first rescheduled til the fall but have since cancelled them too 😥

I went to four but I found they each had their own distinct style. I just purchased my dress yesterday!!

I went to 2 weddings fairs in my city tried on probably 10 dresses to see what I liked and then went to one bridal store that had my designer that I was wanting and bought from that store. I already had a dress in mind a year before I went to the bridal fairs

I went to a wedding fair and got it in my first batch.

I visited 2 and my fw was able to find hers on the first go. The first place I went to had really bad customer service, but the second was a family run pop up store who were super nice and really helpful.

I visited 3 and probably tried on over 30 dresses! It took me a while but eventually there was a dress I just couldn’t forget about and I needed to buy it!
