I have seen so many engagements pop up on social media in the last year and then it feels like a little bit of time goes by and they are already married! I want to know what factors you have thought about when planning your wedding date after being engaged! How long of an engagement are you having?...

How long of an engagement are you having?

Longer than a year to save some money and enjoy being an engaged couple?

A year: Ready to get on it

Less than a year: Can't wait to be married

Or even shorter that and eloping right away!

Our engagement was almost 2 years (Feb 2018 - Oct 2019), and I am so glad we did it that way. It gave us time to save up and really think what we wanted for our big day. Plus there was no rush at all when it came to planning, i never felt the need to stress about anything because of how much time I had. We could have easily gotten married Oct 2018, but didn't want to rush anything and just wanted to enjoy being engaged!

We got engaged in May 2019, and we were initially thinking of having a fall wedding in October 2020. But then before we could pick a solid date, my best friend got engaged and they decided like the day they got engaged to get married in October 2020! Plus he wants me in his wedding party, so I thought that would be too much too close. So we opted for our dating anniversary since it's a Saturday this year and is in July, so we'll have been engaged for 14 months. My friend and his fiancé have now decided to elope next January, so we could've had our first choice date and had another 3 months to plan/save, but oh well. I love everything that we've planned so far and wouldn't be able to do some of the things had we had a fall wedding.
