How long before the wedding did you finalize your menu?

You probably booked your caterer very early in your planning process, but had a while to have a tasting and think about your exact menu. When was it finalized?

    We finalized our menu in the 10th month.

    We do not have an option to do a tasting (specifically for our wedding). However our venue does some open events we are welcome to go to, so we can taste the food. We might do this, however every single review on our venue raves about the food, so we aren't concerned. We already know we are doing the top level of the buffet options, and we don't need to finalize our choices until 3 weeks before the wedding. We already have an idea of what we are going with though. It will only change if there are menu changes, which their may be, as our wedding will be their 2019 catering menu, not the 2017/2018 one we currently have.

    6 months in before the wedding we went for our menu tasting a nd one month before choosing the dishes.

    We had our meal tasting 4 months before the wedding and decided on the entrees and cake flavors then! We didn't finalize the hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour until 1 month before! Smiley surprise

    We have it pretty certain, we still need to go to the menu tasting. But I don't see us changing it.

    Still haven’t but we went for our menu tasting 5 months before and will finalize it probably two months before when we meet with our venue again

    Waiting on RSVP's to finalize but we have choosen the a few mains so the guests have a choice.

    Our wedding is July and we finalized the menu mid-February. I'm an overplanner.

    We have paid deposit and made some preliminary decisions about a year before the wedding. i think in the next couple months we will finalize ( we are doing a cocktail reception so just finger foods)

    We've made our selections but haven't communicated them to the venue yet. Still waiting to hear from them about getting sushi added to the menu.

    Our venue dictates when this happens, so we will be contacted by our venues event coordinator 4 months before our wedding to start the process.

    We won't be finalizing our menu until about 4 months before the wedding, this will be our last task because of how the venue schedules their food tasting and everything

    We are self-catering our wedding, so there isn’t really a “final” menu. We have a list of things we want to have, but FH keeps trying to add things to it, so we will see how that goes. Haha

    Our menu was finalized 3 months before the wedding. Our tasting was actually 8 months before the wedding.
