How does a decorator work?

Holly, on June 11, 2018 at 14:02 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4

I'm a newbie and trying to scale the world of wedding planning. If I hire a decorator do I just pay for the pieces I rent or is there a fee on top of it? If I rent pieces do they set them up for me? Help lol

I had originally wanted a decorator and wanted to charge me high price. She had a charge of $75 for tear down. Eventually i cancelled and decided she was expensive in whole for $600+.

Personally i say look around to find a ressonable price including tear down. If not deciding to go with one, plan it so its organized and get sone help from your siblings and friends to save that cost.

I have done everyhing for the set up withon 1 day of arrival and the finishing touch was done by in laws help for the centerpieces.

It all depends on the specific wedding decorator. The ones I've met with all said they would set up/tear down and that it was built into the price.

Yeah best bet is to ask! We're getting curtains to cover a division wall in our venue so they will for sure be setting that up! I have asked for pricing on floral arrangements from them as well but I'm not sure 100% if they set that up too as I'll be using the venues centerpieces and then doing a floral piece on top of it....
Best to ask!! Most vendors are willing to help you in every way you need! For a price hahah!

Usually if you meet with a decorator they will discuss what prices are for what - it never hurts to get quotes with multiple vendors. If you were to rent pieces themselves then I would go ahead and assume that they are not going to be set up for you unless you get them from the venue. Because my wedding will be out of the city any decorations we get I will have to put up myself (with help from our families) the day of.
