How do you decide the color?

Omer, on January 9, 2017 at 12:46 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 8

What sort of things that we need to pay attention to decide a good color?

I have no idea what to say when they ask me "Have you decided the color yet?"

PS: I am the groom so yeah possibly it's me who don't get it... #Help

Cheers

O.K

Hi Omer! Nice to meet you! Welcome to the community! Smiley smile The colours you choose can be according to the season in which you're getting married, the style you are going for, a piece or accessory you found, etc. You can take a look and comment in these discussions for ideas:

We haven't picked colors... I'm picking things based on if it compliments the color and style of our invitations and my dress... Picking what the bridesmaids will wear is next

Hi Omer! We chose plum and charcoal as our colours. My favourite colour is purple and my husband likes it too so we went with a dark purple to go with our fall wedding. Grey is a great neutral colour that goes with a lot and we went with the darker shade to go with the dark purple.

What's your fiance's favourite colour? Does she want to incorporate it into the wedding? Since your wedding is in June, you have lots of great options for colours!

You're not alone! I'm not sure what to pick either. I would like to pick colors that we both love rather than colors that reflect the season, but it's not the easiest job! Maybe a good starting point would be for both of you to take a look at "real weddings" in the same season as your own wedding and see what you like. Also consider any colors that mighy have a significant meaning in your cultural heritage. For example in my culture green is traditionally considered as good luck and fortune for the bride and some people try to include it in their jewelry since everyone has shifted to wearing white dresses over the past century.

A lot of people will pick colours that match the season they are getting married in! Other people will pick a favourite colour. For us we picked the colour purple as we wanted something to look royal and elegant and purple fit will with a dress I fell in love with! Also on my dress there is gold detailing on it so for us we went with purple and gold accents!

Haha not to worry Omer! Some people like their colours to reflect the season, some just pick colours they like! It is completely up to you and your SO.

I personally just picked colours I liked (purple and teal)
