How do you Choose

Carine, on May 11, 2022 at 09:25 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 14

Going dress shopping in August, and I have a hard time picking a style because depending on the day and mood I go from Queen Glam to low key comfy lace. How did you choose your dress and not change your mind after purchasing it?

I can understand that. They are usually good at understand your body andhow dresses fit, and you absolutely can say no to stuff they picked. I know there was a few that my stylist had picked out and it was almost an immediate no, and we just moved on.

Honestly, you will know when you try on the right dress. There is a different feeling than "oh this is nice, I like this" and "omg this is the dress im getting married in" I cried when I tried it on the second time and I have tried it on a few times at home and still am so in love!

When booking my appointment I was afraid to give her what I was looking for and she just chose based on my criteria's so I selected them all. I have seen the two in one dress where it's fitted and part of the skirt comes off to make a second dress.

I think that is my main issue everyday I am looking at dresses. I am hoping to get "yes this is the dress moment" and from there no more looking, I know me and I'll regret and have the what if that one is better. lol

So true, This is my first and last wedding. I should just enjoy the attention and the fact I can try on beautiful dresses even the ones I dream I could afford.

For me, I had a vision in mind. I wanted long sleeves, not too much tule, and leafy looking lace. I tried on a few long sleeve dresses and they just didnt flatter my body right. However, because I gave an idea to my stylist, she literally picked out the dress I said yes too! Wasn't even one I saw when snooping the racks.

If you say yes to a dress, DO NOT LOOK AT ANY MORE DRESSES! That is the main issue I find some brides will struggle with, You will start to second guess.

Also, depending on your budget, you could always go the 2 dress route, and have a ceremony dress and reception dress that can allow you to have both vibes

I feel like I'll try on 10 and then just settle with the price and the one I like the most lol.

This is going to be fun, I feel bad for the people coming with me.

I hate trying on clothes so this is going to be fun. lol, I booked 3 appointments with 3 different stores because the amount of time they allow you to try on dresses is not a lot.

I like so many of them, I've also told the people coming they get to choose 1 dress so hopefully that will help.

Once I find my dress I will need to ban looking at dresses because I will be that bride that regrets the dress I bought.

Thank you for the advice I greatly appreciate it.

Personally I would try a wide range of styles! Thats what I did. ended up taking out the ones I didn't like from there!

I bought mine over a year ago and I am still head over heels for it.

I found that each store I went to I found a dress that I liked as there are so many beautiful dresses out there! I also found that taking friends/family influenced me more than I would have expected. The initial dress I chose and purchased gave me regret. Fortunately the store and designer were amazing and let me switch to another dress (same designer) and I'm very happy with that one!

Look and try-on as much as you like! We don't all get the 'it's the one' feeling. But don't look anymore once you do purchase lol!

Thank you Amanda, I'm looking at so many and everyday I like a different dress, I managed to book two appointments as bridal stores and I find they aren't giving me much time to even try on dresses.

I was also thinking of getting my Entourage a chance to pick at least one for me. I was also told not to have a set design because once I am there all my wish list go out the window.

I guess when you find the one you found the ONE.

I would try on a wide range of dresses to see what you really like and don't like and go from there.

I chose my dress when I first saw it in a window display at the bridal store right after my fiance and I got engaged. But at the time I wasn't ready to look for dresses yet since my wedding was a ways away still. Fast forward a year and the same bridal store had the same dress in the window again. I knew it was the one but my mom and MOH told me to try on different styles just to make sure that I wasn't going to like something else. That dress was the last one I tried on and as soon as I put it on it was the "ONE"

I've had my dress for almost 3 years now and I still haven't changed my mind about it. I still love it the day I tried it on! I haven't looked at any other dress since.

I know so many brides have the urge to look at other options and I think that's where you start rethinking the dress you purchased.
