Soy candles made by @paisley_pure (insta) How did you propose to your bridesmaids ?? 1By KingProteaPress on etsy! How did you propose to your bridesmaids ?? 2

I ordered this cute personalized mug/card set for my MOH and bridesmaids, then I got my friend who makes her own soy candles to make little candles with labels I got printed. Im putting them in a box with a pair of earrings, a rhinestone compact mirror and a mini bottle of champagne.

I'm having custom Christmas ornaments made with the question written on them "will you be my bridesmaids?" Since it's so close to Christmas I thought it would be a nice surprise, I'm also going to have custom wine labels made with our photos on them and put them on a bottle of champagne so we can pop them together in celebration!

Definitely and everyone has been such a great help!
I have decided to ask my girls in a nicely decorated fortune cookie, with a cute box personalized with their name!

I made a shoe box (decorated with the will you be my bridesmaid, I had a save the date there and a few "wedding" things for her!) for my youngest bridesmaid. The rest were family and I didn't actually propose but just asked. My sisters were delighted. My Maid of Honour expected it as she was told before I even had a partner what her role was!

It looks like you got a variety of suggestions, Rebecca. Have you selected one?

We all lived far away from each other (2-3 hours and diff. provinces) so I just made a cute sign and took a picture of it with some fall decore (had a fall wedding) and sent that to them!

    I didn't have a huge budget and I had 6 of them, so here's what I did:

-Bought black shoes boxes from Michael's and a gold sparkly sticker with their first initial on the lid

-Inside the lid, I had 3 little rows of string with tiny clothespins. I'd printed out about 12 photos of me + each bridesmaid at various points in our lives and clipped them on (lesson learned - glue the pictures down)

-Inside the box, I had a bottle of (cheap $10) wine from the Okanagan which is where the wedding will be, some lindor chocolates, and a cute "will you be my bridesmaid?" card I found at Homesense

-For the maids of honour, I put a sticker over the part that said "bridesmaid" and wrote "maid of honour" in calligraphy

They all loved them, and it was really fun to revisit the photos together. All in, I think I spent max $20 per bridesmaid.

I looked on Pinterest for some ideas, but what I did was I got a wooden box from the dollar store, painted it the colours I was planning to used for the wedding. Then I would get little fillers to place inside the box, like hand location from the body shop, nail filer, bath bomb, hair ties from Etsy and some other things on website. Its totally up to you. Just be careful, this can get expensive with the number of bridesmaids you have.

Its very fun to plan for this and see what different things you can add to your box (or whatever you choose to do)

    Have fun!!

I just bought them each their favorite bottle of wine and printed off free printables asking them to be a bridesmaid from the internet. Nothing fancy - they all knew they would be in the wedding as soon as we got engaged.

Since both my BMs live far away, I just asked them via text and e-mail. Nothing fancy. I also feel like there is a lot of pressure when you receive a bridesmaid "proposal".

I mailed cute cards in the mail with personalized messages for each girl. Meeting in person wasn’t an option since we are scattered all over the province. Everyone loved them and mentions holding onto them as a keepsake.

I didn't do anything special. Invited MOH over for dinner to ask her. Went out for tea with another one. Asked the third on skype since she lives in another province. I had planned to write a poem but we were going dress shopping and I wanted them to know before we went.

I gave my girls an envelope with this card in it. All 3 of them laughed and said they loved it. I wanted to do something a little different, and the way it was worded explains the relationships we have so well. Haha.

Each of my bridesmaid's kinda Knew before I officially asked - ha!
For my MOH we've been friends since we were 5, I printed pictures from when we were kids, through big moments in our life to present day and wrote a story on the back of each of them - eventually asking her to be my MOH.

For all my bridesmaids I got them a Charmed Aroma candle that said "I Can't say I Do without you". We had a dinner with all of our bridal party and gave them out then.

I am not having any bridesmaids, just two MOHs (my sister and best friend). I asked them each separately over a cup of tea and dessert at our favourite places (something that we love doing regularly so it was super casual). For me, the reactions I got were what I will remember and cherish forever.

Just think about each girl you want to ask and what their personality is like. You don't necessarily have to ask each one in the exact same way. Tailor your "proposal" to them, whether it be getting them small gifts or taking them someplace you both enjoy visiting and proposing there. Smiley smile

I'm not a fan of bridesmaid "proposals". I think they put extra pressure on the person to say yes, even if they're not comfortable being in the wedding party.

I asked my maid of honour and one of my bridesmaids over text, since they live far away. I asked another bridesmaid while we were out for a walk one day. I plan to ask two more friends the next time I see them.

I gave mine a photo box and filled it with items that were for their relaxation (nail polish, candles, etc), and threw in colours of the wedding so that they knew what to expect! As well as chocolate because everyone loves chocolate! Depending on their humour, some of them I also "proposed" with a ring pop lol. But then I know other people that just asked and that was it! Either way they will be honoured to share in your special day!
