You have plenty of music choices to make, from your processional, to your first dance, to the soundtrack that will underscore your whole reception. Have you been pouring over your playlist, and your do-not-play list? What music gets you on the dance floor? How are you customizing your wedding day music?

The genres chosen for the day was Indian and English as most would be on the dance floor for the evening portion. The DJ had an open request and didn't like some of the songs that were played (too much vulgar language). Thank goodness it was on the dvd copy.

We're going to give our DJ specific songs not to play and a list of specific songs we want to hear. It should be reflective of us Smiley smile

Nothing overly special. My sister may sing a song, but I haven't asked her to commit to that yet. Some people (my inlaws) are requesting songs already. "Their song"... which is fine, I guess, but it kind of bugs me that we could essentially have a buzz kill song that gets everyone off the dance floor cus no one knows it.

I haven't looked to much into it yet but we will definitely be having certain songs for certain moments.

We just had a normal playlist that the dj played! We didn't customize it.

I'm planning to ask my brother to play the ceremony music. The reception will just have a playlist of songs that we love.

We made a list of songs we love for the seating music for the ceremony and for the reception the DJ played a lot of songs we requested that are pop punk songs so that was fun!

My husband created an entire playlist for our DJ - he had so many 'must play' songs that it turned into a playlist!

We created our own playlist for the entire event. Our friend had previously done it for his wedding and offered us his list as a jumping off point which was super helpful. We had a great time picking and choosing songs for different parts of the day. Sometimes it was super easy and sometimes it was super hard (lol) but we made it. The processional was my choice (Harry In Winter from a Harry Potter soundtrack) and the recessional was something we chose together (Say Hey (I love you) by Michael Franti). We picked compilation jazz to play during the cocktail hour which my husband's dad mostly picked as he has tons of albums at home.

The only music we had was for the processional, which was a very specific version (i.e. orchestra and conductor) of a Bach piece.

On our RSVPs we had our guests put a song request, its a fun extra for us when we get our mail and fun for them to hear their song!
