How are you customizing your... menu?

Your menu is a great place to bring your unique touch to your wedding day. After all, you want to enjoy and remember your wedding meal! Are you working with your caterer to add a special twist to what you're serving?

    Our late-night food stations is where we get to pick and choose what we want to stand out! We'll have a waffle and ice cream station and porchetta sandwiches Smiley smile

    *droooool* we splurged on the top tier buffet option... it's the basics: rolls, butter, tapenades, veggie platter.... then there's 4 different salads, 3 different platters (including a BC Salmon Sampler), 3 entrees (including BC halibut), 3 sides, and a SUNDAE BAR!! It was going to be a s'mores bar... but she said weddings don't do it because it's time consuming/messy... but I wasn't going traditional desserts... so we compromised on a sundae bar. I'm an ice cream nut, so this totally works for me! My mom thinks it's weird to have ice cream in January, but by 8pm, people will have been indoors for 4 hours, and it's heated inside... I think it's fine!

    Favourite food: mashed potatoes!!!
    Favourite drink/shot: John Deere
    Shot (half crème de melon and half crème de banane)
    And a cookie bar for my fiancé!!

    For our late night lunch we included a pizza station and a poutine bar with 6 different topping options!

    We're doing pulled pork, barbecue chicken, grilled vegetables, garden salad, and mac n cheese! I wanted foods that we love to eat!

    The menu is set by our venue, but we do have a choice for the late night snack, so we will be doing a poutine bar (Fiance loves poutine!). We are also doing corkage so we will be buying limited kinds of alcohol and will have signature drinks.

    We did dinner at a restaurant, so we didn't have much choice in what was on there, although everything they proposed was amazing (and everyone loved the food)!
    If we had been able to do something, we likely would have done some sort of mac&cheese snack food.

    We are doing our own catering so will be making homemade pulled pork for dinner with my step dads homemade bbq sauce. And we have picked out a selection of our favorite craft beers and wines for the bar Smiley smile

    We got to choose all the food on our menu and the cocktail hour snacks, so it reflected what we felt was an amazing meal. We also created 2 signature drinks for the bar menu!

    We were able to customize our menu and drinks a bit. We went for a tasting back in February with our caterer. We were stunned by his food as it was so scrumptious! We changed one of the hors d'oeuvres and added a side. When he found out that there were a few vegetarians, he offered to make them a vegetarian puff pastry meal so that they didn't have to just eat sides. He also was totally cool with us having custom cocktails for guests and just asked that we give the bartender the recipe. This was by far one of the easiest vendors to deal with for the whole process.

    It was a fall menu that involved lots of pumpkin, squash, cranberry and goat cheese flavours! Our late night snack was Oktoberfest themed with onion rings, cheese fondue, mini pogos and soft pretzels

    We are having crème brule for dessert and a late night snack bar with pizza and poutine to add a fun spin to the traditional wedding menu items.
